First Post/STadium Info

Post by AJatBG »

Hello Everyone.

First time poster, long time reader.

Had some free time with classes over today and decided to stop by the Doyt to see what was going on. Saw the team practicing for awhile and then I decided to walk into the stadium. Grass looked nice, bottom part of the scoreboard was in place. But most importantly of all, painters working on the rails. They were scraping the pink off and preparing to paint them all black. I asked an older gentlemen with a notebook about any more plans for the stadium this year. He told me that besides the scoreboard, just minor things. He didnt get into any details. I brought up the SAC, and he replied, "That old rumor?" and winked at me. I don't think that meant much since I am fairly confident that it will be built in the near future. Also, at the Bee-Gee Bookstore they are selling T-shirts that say "Beat The Sooners" on them. I just bought a $.40 pin that said the same thing. I will wear it proudly for the next couple weeks. Sorry for no big info, but I just wanted to break my posting "cherry". GO FALCONS!

Welcome AjatBG! Thanks for the updates you provided. Guys like me that are a couple hours away from BG rely on the locals to keep us updated.

I simply cannot wait to see the Doyt on 9/11. Thank goodness my anniversary is 9/10!

Fox 36 had a story on the new baord and the first days of practice. The intensity level appears to be very high even though they aren't in pads yet.

The bottom half of the board is in place. For those of us who have trouble counting to three, the new board will show the number of timeouts left per team!! :D

Will we hace one of those "clocks" on it, or will we just have to use the ref's timex again?

Man, that was embarrassing on national TV

I love the new scoreboard, and I haven't even seen it yet.

There is a clock on it, but no word yet on if it is a working clock. :P

Just as long as we don't have to worry about plugging two things in the same outlet and having the scoreboard start skipping minutes like our "friends" down in Oxford.

Since the farmers on the west side of the county ( Butler) have a hard time with anything that does not pertain to S**t, it was no surprize when the clock started loosing minutes when we had the ball.

How about not having a minute mysteriously disappear off the clock so we have to start burning timeouts to keep our drive going. ::chuckle::

Isn't that what the old scoreboard did?
