I’m actually a little surprised we aren’t playing anyone else besides Northern Colorado on our trip out to Colorado. I know this is a return game from last year’s home game we had with UNC, but I thought we might play at least one more team out there since we’re making a 2,400-mile round trip voyage for the Northern Colorado game already. You have Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming and Air Force all within an hour and a half of Greeley. I haven’t crosschecked the schedules of those teams, so maybe it wouldn’t work out anyway. Just a thought.

They do?

Or is it just a "round-robin" type event, and not an actual "tournament"?
It is just a round robin event but to make it more climactic and/or boost attendance they try to schedule what they believe will be the toughest matchup for the host team as the last game of the event.

They must think BG is in for a big turnaround, especially since Belmont is in this tourney, and they have gone to the Big Dance back to back years

Or they expect the largest crowd for that game since both teams are relatively close and just a short drive down I75 from each other. Saturday is probably when they can expect the biggest crowds, so this is a way to generate a gate for Sunday.

Then again, Belmont does play in the Atlantic Sun Conference, I think. As bad as the MAC has been in recent years, there's no comparison there. Even if Belmont legitimately is better than us, we probably got the nod just because of conference recognition.
