Christ...we're worse than France
Until we move the Toledo game to 7am Thanksgiving morning so the OHSAA can play a game, I don't think we're taking anything from them, anywhere.
(Of course, realizing you probably just lumped them into make the France joke, I can appreciate it.
This quote jumped out at me more than anything:
Although Kidwell played at BGSU, he said his ties to the Falcon program are not real strong.
"There's only one coach [defensive coordinator Mike Ward] left there from when I played. He was the strength coach back then. So, I don't really have any emotional attachment."
"I don't believe I can name a coach, anywhere, anytime, anyhow, who did it better than Doyt Perry."

Sounds like they have a desire for playoff games, but no plan as to how they have to hunt for them. I think they need to talk to other places outside of our region, figure out the best approach and not just start with "gee whiz, we'll take any and everything." That approach sounds like you don't have a clue about how to handle such games, and you don't know what your are getting into. Not a way to inspire confidence in those you are trying to impress.

They would be smart too to appeal to the TCL, SLL and the NLL to get some regular season games going. Toledo makes good money from TCL games at the Glass Bowl, why not offer a little competition to them by accepting some of these teams with open arms and a chance to rake in some more green.

This is how it works. You wait to see if you are located between 2 schools that face each other and the OHSAA decides if your venue best meets the geographical profile they desire. BG is limited but will be able to get some.NWLB wrote:Sounds like they have a desire for playoff games, but no plan as to how they have to hunt for them. They are not going to make two teams travel north to play in BG just because BG wants the game. It is all based on geography and facilities located between the 2 schools. Thus, the Glass Bowl is not a big host of HS playoff games because they are rarely located equal, or near equal, distance between 2 Ohio high schools.
This is TOTALLY out of the BG athletic departments control. They must simply wait for match-ups and hope to be selected.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
