Back from Fall Kickoff......

Post by Falconboy »

For those that were worried that new falcon jerseys were that orange travesty that somebody posted a pic of on here a while ago need not worry. I saw them and they new jerseys look quite sharp if I may say so. The shoulders have and orange on top of brown strip over the shoulder. The new font is used with the numbers as well.

Saw alot of the players mulling about. Cody Basler looks like a friggin' beast now. I absolutely would not want to be the hapless Minnesota player that Basler hits first next week. Antonio Smith looks like he's put on about 10 or 12lbs of muscle. All in all looks like everyone has taken well advantage of the new weight room and training center inside the Sebo.

The team just looked faster and more athletic than I've seen them in my four years as a student. Great signs!

I sure hope someone posts pictures before the Browns game ends and I go to bed.

Just got back also, very impressed with how much the Sebo, Field Turf and a little paint adds to the stadium. My son had a great time running with the cross country and track athletes, also with the soccer and hockey teams. The hockey team especially was good with the kids, showing them the correct way to hold a stick, how to shoot and were trying to teach the kids how to shoot one timers. The football team was out in full force as well. I know we have some big boys on our o-line. I also saw a few SHORT offensive players as well. Can't remember the numbers, but I hope they're fast, because they aren't big! I'm assuming one is Geter and we've all heard how fast he is. I'm very excited for the start of the season! Hopefully we'll be healthy and well prepared for Minnesota!

As far as our offensive guys size, only our receivers seem to be on the short side a little. Our qb's and rb's our comparable. Most of our receivers are between 5'11 and 6'2. I believe the Geter was wearing a #28 jersey even though I thought for sure on the bgsufalcons.com roster has him listed as #32.

I thought 32 was Geter and it turned out it was Woolridge. He also looks really good and fast.

We were one of those luck 100,000+ Consumers Energy people to lose power on Friday night. It finally came back on Saturday evening, but there was too damn much to do in terms of clean up to make the event.

This is not a good omen :-)

The font on the new jerseys is not the offical AD font. The numbers are rounded and look different. The jerseys look very good!! Talked with Corey Partridge's Dad, Scott and he said that Corey's jersey is very tight fitting so people can't get a hand on him easily. Corey said he loves the jersey!

It sure looked like the new official font to me but oh well they looked pretty sharp anyway. I assume those white ones would be the road uni's and the brown ones are the home. Can't wait too see those. :D

Why I've been feeding them Falcon Food, what else? Good seeing you and RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK! Can't wait until 9/22. I am not cutting the hair for a while...I dig it longer. I had long hair for 15 years until 2000. Great seeing AAF as always and meeting MarkL.

There is no doubt this team has been utlizing the new weight room. As others have said, the muscle on most of these cats is crazy. Michael Ream is my main cat on D...he has put on solid weight and told me this whole team is looking to make a statement Satuday night. Corey Partridge looks in fantastic shape. The whole place looks electric. We got our season tix handed to us as we got in the Sebo. I'm set now...Got to talk with Winny, Kyle Cutler, Loren Hargrove, Nick Davis, Aaron Kent, Tyler Sheehan, AT, Kory L, Jeff Fink, Jarrett Sanderson, Chris Bullock and a few coaches. This team knows they're gonna have to earn wins and are ready to go...they were loose and having fun but confident.

Special thanks to AT...who stayed after everyone else was gone to throw passes to the Freaklings in the South end zone. He mentioned he wanted to go get some dinner and yet kept throwing balls. He didn't have to do that but I certainly appreciate it. Thanks AT!

BTW, MACMAN< Ralph Parks was looking to meet you. :-D Ya know, Marques' dad?

All in all...the place looks AWESOME, the team is pumped and so am I.

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEAT THE GOPHERS.

Took my kids into the locker room. They loved it. I taught them the first rule of locker room etiquette - how to pee in the shower.

Speaking of the locker room , did anyone by chance get a peek at the various depth chart sheets that were up in rather plain site? I didn't get a real good peek at them as I was on the phone with a friend who happened to call while I was in there. Maybe someone else did? :smt112

The new white jersey's are awesome.....

FYI.... went by sbx, they are suppose to get a shipment of the white jerseys in by the end of the month, does that mean Friday? I only heard that they would have Corey's number, not sure of the other numbers, overheard 99 being mentioned. As for the Brown ones they are getting blanks so those can be customized. They continue to say by the end of the month. I hope so, I want one of those white jerseys so bad I can taste it. I would love to have one before Minnesota, but that ain't going to happen. I am so fired up for this to get started.

Had a good talk with Coach bird, asked him specifically about special teams. I get the impression that this man has them under control and we will show vast improvement there. He even told me a little story about a conversation he had with Coach Beamer from VT about how they pride themselves on special teams, sounds like he is bring alot of that here. Corey also stated that Coach Bird is very enthusiastic about his special teams. That was very exciting to hear.

Had a great time, this was fun for all involved. I even hit on 1 out of 2 extra point attempts. Of course the Freak was killing the ball thru the uprights. Hey Freak, got any eligiblity left???

Sounds like this was a blast, guys! So good to hear the stories of the coaches and players taking time (and extra time) to hang out with fellow Falcons. Very cool.
