Atlanta has a lot of What Ifs to think about, but I doubt that cutting Cole is really one of them. If they wanted him back, I'm sure he'd be quite willing to return to their camp right now...obviously they don't.

I have no idea why Cole is not in an NFL camp. The guy catches everything thrown his way, he's a relentless worker, he's got NFL size, and he's a good, solid route runner. The only thing he lacks is true NFL speed, but with his hands he could still be a decent option as a possession WR.

If he were 6'4 he'd still be on a roster, IMO.

If he could run 4.4 he'd still be on a roster.

Unfortunately he's a bit small for a pure possesion WR, and too slow to be a true deep threat. Still with his route running & hands I'd take him on the Browns in a heartbeat. They need somebody who can catch the balls that Anderson & Frye are winging around the place.

Looks like Steve made it through the first round of cuts with the Browns and they are currently 8 WR's left: Carter, Cribbs, Edwards, Jurevicius, Mann
Sanders, Steptoe, Wilson. I would say that the Browns will probably carry 6 maybe 5 WR's once the season starts, so at this point I could see him making the team if has a good game in preseason game 4. The guys on the block are probably Wilson, Carter, Mann, and Sanders so it will be intresting what happens next week.
