BG still offensively drunk after last season: Minny: 31 BG 13
Based on you're prediction RUIT, it would appear that BG is still defensively drunk as well. Is this the case now?
The defense will be stellar, but they can only do so much when they are on the field a majority of the game.
I remember last year all too well. The defense would play well to get the offense on the fiield, and then..................... QB Keeper for a yard, QB keeper for a yard, incomplete five yard pass, botched punt.
*shudder*

I highly doubt with a non-running QB that we will see any QB draws with Tyler in there. I think well be surprised to see a more open offense, hopefully back to the days of Harris and Co. Wishful thinking, but it can be done, especially with the talent on this team that we know we have.
The falcons swoop down from the sky and sink their talons into the backs of the gophers as they are daydreaming of feasting on a MAC opponent.
Falcons 28
Gophers 14
Our offensive line pushes the Gophers around all day. Sheehan completes a ton of intermediate passes and the running game racks up around 180 yards keeping the Gopher defense off balance and open to the attack from the air.
I think Corey will draw double coverage all day, but still gets some catches. Freddie and Marques have good days to balance out the offense and keeps the secondary guessing. One of our other receivers will show up big time on this day and will give MSU fits in their attempt to prepare for the Falcons the following week.

My point is that BG may well have the same poor play calling and terrible execution they had last year.
My keys for this year is "Playcalling." I made NO secret last year that it was awful. There are a lot of unknowns this year. I want to be wrong,
I am hoping since Stud is now at LSU and Coach McCall is the OC that the playcalling will be much better than last year.
It will be the difference between an offensive lineman calling the plays (i.e. shove it down their throats with the running game) and a QB coach calling the plays (i.e. lets throw the ball with a mix of running plays). I understand all the running from last year, I am sure we will be airing it out this year. My hopes are that they will continue to air the ball out with a good mix of running and don't get gun shy on throwing after we throw that first INT.
I think we'll see a strong game out of the offense. Our multiple backs will run through the big holes our O line creates! The D. holds the Woodchucks late to preserve the win!
Muchlike fans of the professional teams of Cleveland, I grew up loving Chicago teams. Therefore, I am quite the pessimist when it comes to predictions.
Neither offense is very good. We'll put up a good fight and if we do end up losing, I still the think the way we play will be very encouraging. This team will make alot of noise in the MAC.

I hope I am very wrong about my prediction, but I've got to see A LOT of improvement after what we've shown over the past two seasons. I know the last two years mean nothing now, but they certainly have me still concerned about our team heading into 2007.
I'm not sure about a final score, but my money will be on Minnesota and giving the points. Minnesota has been able to churn out top RBs in recent memory, and I don't think our defense is ready to really stop a Big10 run game. I expect at least 3 turnovers from our offense as well, making it impossible to keep up with a mediocre Minnesota team.
Hopefully I'll lose some cash and we'll pull off a big win on the road.
