The old spaceship building never really seemed to fit in, did it.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

So we go from it allegedly looking like a slide projector to looking like one of UT's neighbors. I wonder if that was in the artist's vision, too?

I think the University should have worked Saddlemire into the design for the Wolf Center. It would make sence to have a building designed to look like a slide projector to be home to the Department of Theatre and Film. That might have brought the cost of the whole project down a bit. They could have remodeled the ampitheatre for use again and had space for administrative and faculty offices already completed. The second floor half lounge would have made a wonderful main entry and the patio was just a great space. I spent countless hours out there on those wi\onderful orange plastic chairs studying or enjoying the "scenery" on nice days in the field between Saddlemire and Kreischer. But I guess it's a little too late for that. The Wolf Center will be wonderful and has been needed for more than a decade so I am excited for its opening!

The different "movers and shakers" of the project wanted Saddlemire gone. They felt it was an eye sore. I can remember by Theatre 141 class freshmen year and hearing my teacher say he "Couldn't wait for that monstrosity of a building to come down."

I find it very disappointing that the powers to be on this project pushed for the building to come down so quickly. Construction isn't scheduled to start till mid-2008 I believe.

Mid-2008 really is not that far away. Only about 4 months till the beginning of 2008. Also I was thinking they probably wanted it down while the weather was warm not snowy. I wouldn't want to be out there tearing down a building in snow. Then once the ground freezes in 2008 they can start construction.

Has anyone seen any artists renditions of the new wolfe center?

They are doing a lot of work with gravel and fill, they may be starting some foundation work right now.

I drove around there the other day and there is grass growing where the spaceship used to be. So, no, the construction has not started.
