I understand that some of the grandpas, after having what they feel is a particularly satisfying patdown, will buy you a beer.DWGinNE wrote: but as a compensating factor for the shock of getting groped by grandpa, beer is on the menu at the stadium. It's expensive ($5.50 plastic bottle) and sales end at the end of the third quarter, but it's beer!
Hope you have a good time in the Cities
I'm travelling the rest of the week & won't be back until game day. Minnesota has worked big time on special teams all Spring & Fall -- I think that area will be one of the differences in the game.
Golden Valley is close, easy trip downtown. You might want to consider parking in the municipal ramps right where I-394 empties into downtown, then taking the light rail from 1st Avenue over to the stadium (50c downtown fare).
For those staying at the Hyatt, it is about an eight block up the Nicollet Mall to the light rail (again, a 50c downtown fare) -- the stadium itself is a good 15+ blocks from the hotel. Ask the concierge how to get there. If by chance anyone is a Big Steak person, Manny's Steak House in the Hyatt is the best local steak joint, very expensive but superior to Ruth Chris, Mortons, Capitol Grille and the other chains that are also downtown. Here is a link to Manny's:

if you guys are looking for great BBQ and live blues, check out Famous Dave's BBQ & Blues! it's my favorite place to go while in minneapolis. the food is absolutely amazing... they have the best ribs i've had anywhere... and they have many legendary blues artists playing there nightly. the sunday blues brunch is highly recommended as well!

What to look out for or I guess not to look out for on your way to Minnesota. Have a safe trip and be loud in the dome! I am envious of everyone that is going.
