Pretty shocking stats for Miami of Ohio. I've never known them to be a team that won the game on the ground.

Anybody else agree?

One of my best friends was at the BSU game as I mentioned earlier. He said Miami was killing them with the short pass early on (not scoring wise), but then the BSU defense tightened up.

Then on the last drive Miami started running the ball with great success, sparked by a 55yard punt return. I guess on 3rd and goal from the 6, they just gave the ball to Murphy and he simply ran it in up the middle with only 17 seconds left.

BSU got the kickoff all the way to mid-field. Apparently Nate Davis made a really sick athletic move to get out of a sack and throw the ball away with what seemed like :01 left, but it went to :00. I guess the crowd was booing and going crazy over the call, but as he mentioned it probably wouldn't have mattered. Still though you never know with a Hail Mary...
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Good for Kent and the MAC, let's hope it isn't the only BCS win this week.

Looks like the MAC East division isn't as bad as it appears. Hopefully we can keep it going on Saturday.

Miami is always had a strong running game and is known as such. They have become more balance in the last few years.

Rob Carpenter, Randy Walker, Cal Murray, Travis Prentice.... Miami has had 13 RB's with over 2,000 yard careers. John Pont is in there with 2,475 (1949-51)

Of course Travis Prentice hold all sorts of NCAA records.

B!G props to Kent State! Exactly what the MAC needs - some wins against BCS conference teams.

On the other hand, all those folks who picked Kent to win the East don't look so crazy now, do they?

Here's a brief scouting report on Buffalo after watching the Rutgers game:

The score was a bit deceiving. They couldn't handle Ray Rice, but only a handful of teams nationally can. They actually shot themselves in the foot with penalties and clock management issues on a number of occasions, all things that can be attributed to rust and should be resolved by the time they play us. A couple long pass plays burned them where the defenders were in position but didn't make the play.

They have two speedy kids at running back and a possession receiver who caught everything in sight. The quarterback is servicable, not spectacular.

Geez, remember George Swarn? He bulldozed us hard in the Miami Miracle game.

I'll never forget Travis Prentice destroying us in his Senior year either. It was a cold, rainy homecoming game. I think there were MAYBE 5000 people in the stands. The weather was awful, but I wanted to watch Prentice play...I got to see him. I got to see him trounce us :(

CONGRATS FLASHES! I listened to the 4th quarter although Bill Needle has to be the absolute worst play by play man out there. Sheese.

Kent State is gonna be a tough test for any team this year. They have things jellin and when you put that together with decades of futility, there's a fire brewing over there...which sux.

Iowa State isn't picked to do anything this year but so what....That is a BiG win for Martin and his team...they will be a good team in 07.

GO FALCONS!!! DO THE SAME>

I know it is a different sport, but I would nominate Matt Underwood on STO doing Indians' games.

If the last two years have taught us anything, it should be that you can't predict anything in the MAC.
