Team workouts, progress?

Post by BleedOrange »

It's September now, and my basketball jones is kicking in.

I've been anticpating that someone that has seen the team recently might post about how they are doing. I'm eager to hear about Chris Knight and whether he'll have an impact even vaguely like DD described. Also, I'm hoping to hear that Polk and Larson made good freshman-to-sophomore progress. Also, we have 2 new freshman that we hope can be part of the rotation right away.

So, does anybody have anything?

Coincidently, I met George Jackson on Friday. Wow! Hard to believe there are 7 weeks to 10/15.

He's optomistic about 4 guys, and that's a lot of talent. They joked about the motion offense. It WON'T be in our playbook.

It sounds like this coaching staff is willing to play with the cards dealt them, not try to turn all the spots to aces (if ya get my drift).

Anyway, let's see what the new season brings.

I agree...you can win in the MAC with guys like Hamblet, Miller, Moten and especailly Otis Polk. We won't have much depth, but we will be able to put three guys that can score on the floor for most of 40 minutes...that's all the offense you need.

Thee options is good...two is OK...one is us in 2005/2006 :-)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Flip: No doubt, especially come tournament time. If the right guys get hot during the MAC tournament, you've got a chance to make some noise. And with three good options, you just need a few role players to fill some gaps to be in a good position.

Regardless of the coach there is talent on this squad. Plenty of offense, as stated by many of you here, and with Coach Orr the defense should be just fine. As dumb as this sounds - I'm most excited about the excitement that is surrounding the program this year. That seems to be what has been missing.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
