Offensive skill position players are all back next season
The most amazing thing about all of the skill position players on offense that had huge games for us Saturday and into Sunday was that all of those players will be in BG Brown and Orange for at least one more year beyond this one.
The offense that we watched Saturday will come back completely intact with one large caveat,
Our strength this year is arguably the OL with Lichtensteiger at Center and two Senior Tackles. Those are the only guys who will need to be replaced on the entire offense.
Looking forward I was wondering if anyone interested in the personnel of the team had any thoughts as to who would replace those guys.
Our current depth chart was listed as
LT 71 Drew Nystrom (6-5, 300, 5-Sr.)
76 Aaron Kent (6-6, 291, r-Jr.)
LG 75 Shane Steffy (6-3, 302, r-So.) or
65 Patrick Watson (6-5, 289, 5-Sr.)
C 78 Kory Lichtensteiger (6-3, 300, 5-Sr.)
65 Patrick Watson (6-5, 289, 5-Sr.)
RG 55 Brandon Curtis (6-2, 285, r-Jr.)
74 Jeff Fink (6-5, 290, r-Jr.)
50 Brandon Mack (6-5, 283, Sr.)
RT 73 Kevin Huelsman (6-5, 290, 5-Sr.)
56 Tyler Donahue (6-6, 281, r-Fr.)
Curtis was once listed as the backup C to Lichtensteiger so he may have the inside track there. The logic would then say Fink at RG, Donahue at RT and Kent at LT.
I wont even pretend that I watch much of the offensive line, I just thought I would see what people interested in the offensive line and our pesonnel thought as this will be the only offensive position where we will have key losses due to graduation.
Note: Winovich is also a Sr. and his versatility will need replaced.

Why is starting a thread about the makeup of next years roster dumb? You may not be interested in it, but that's not dumb. I remember a post in the Free for all about jazz favorite jazz musicians of all time or something like that. I am not interested in it, but it is not dumb. That post is made so that people who are interested in it can come and talk about it with the person who made the post. I see absolutely no difference to this post.
When it comes to football I happen to be very interested in the makeup of the team when it comes to personnel and what not. That is what draws me to watching the games. Not sure why but it does. Now I am sure that there are a couple people who are also interested in this aspect of the game. I am also sure that an administrator should not use his sway to try to kill threads. If you dont like it, "just dont look"

If I wanted to kill the thread I would delete it.
Since this is a discussion forum I thought I'd put my two cents in and point out that not only is this entire thread a dumb idea at this point in the season, but your thesis sentence that stated that everyone who had a big game would be back next year is dumb too because 3/5 of the OLine is leaving...I didn't major in math, but I think that's 60% of the guys who opened up lanes for the RB's and kept Minnesota off of Sheehan while he shredded their secondary.

I'm sure somewhere in here that Globetrotter has already started numerous threads about new head coaching candidates as wellDayons_Den wrote:What if we lose our next 11 games though. I don't want to be stuck with these bums and Brandon for another year!

You are making the assumption that I think the offensive line had a good game. I am not saying whether or not I do, but, I do understand where I was unclear. I should have, and will, state that all of the skill position players are coming back.Flipper wrote:If I wanted to kill the thread I would delete it.

No...all of the skill payers will have eligibility remaining...no one knows how many, if any will actually be here.
So far as the Oline goes, if you could watch that game and NOT think they had a huge game then you probably should quit watching football and find something less complicated to watch like "Dancing With the Stars"
