Toledo @ C. Michigan

Post by Falcon137 »

Here's an early season game that could go a long way in deciding who wins the West. How do you guys think this one will play out?

CMU by at least 2 TDs. Toledo will continue to struggle finding an identity at QB.

Don't know why that's the case. I've seen Aaron Opelt 3 times in person now. When we were both seniors in high school I watched him lead Fremont Ross in an absolute whooping of Perrysburg, and then last year's game against us, and Purdue this past weekend. Every time I've seen him I've felt pretty impressed with his abilities, though he has much to improve on. I definitely view him has having much more upside at this point than Cochran, and I think Opelt gives them a better chance to win now as well.

I don't think Clint brings much to the table other than a last name ripe for wordplay...
Finally a senior!

Seconded. Central Michigan has a much better offense than Toledo, and I don't think either team really stands out defensively. LeFevour should have a nice bounce back game after the debacle in Kansas last week, and unless either Cochran or Opelt can improve vastly for Toledo, they're in for a world of trouble in Mount Pleasant.

It's not a bad idea to really go to the game if you're going to the BG game. CMU's campus is only about 90 miles from East Lansing, you could definitely make a good Saturday of football out of the trip.

I think with the home field advantage, CMU wins 34-20. As much at Tom wants to say all the bad press doesn't hurt, I think it does. My $$ is on WMU to win the West.

My girlfriend goes to UT...I used one of her friend's ID's to get in as a student...No way in hell I'll pay to see the Rockets, unless BG is involved. Thankfully, the Glass Bowl is not exactly Fort Knox.
