Let's start getting fired up for the beatdown we owe Temple!

Post by falconfan1999 »

Last year, we looked pathetic in losing to Temple the way we did. And by that I mean, essentially looking flat, disinterested and playing without heart in the 2nd half. We need to pack the Doyt, make that place rock and be the loudest we can be to cheer our Falcons on to a much needed offensive explosion over Bill Cosby U.!

This game should be sold out, or damn close to it. This team is that good, and they demand our attention.

I'd love to see us declare it an "Orange Onslaught". It was so amazing to watch Penn State tonight and to see that 109,000 of the 110,000 had a white shirt on. You'd think we could organize 15-20k to do the same for our school!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

The only way you could do that is to get the majority of campus to show up to the game. It pains me to say that, but it's true. I would love to see a packed Doyt for a change for the home opener and to see a sea of orange, but unless we get a good majority of the students to show up to a game that kicks off at noon is unfortunately asking a lot out of the students on this campus. Oh, before I get reamed, I will be at the game no matter what.

I agree, but honestly (and sadly), the main thing it's probably going to boil down to is – the weather. If it's sunny and 70-something, we’ll have probably 17,000 – 20,000. If it’s raining, we’ll probably have less than 10,000. Mother Nature has a strong impact on BG football whether (or should I say weather) we like it or not.

I think our students are kind of funny in this regard. Especially later in the season. Do they not know that this is Ohio and that the weather is typically not good in this state? I don't want to criticize, but if the weather is your end all tipping point on whether to go to the game, you're probably not that big a fan in the first place.

If it rains on the 22nd, I say bring it on. If my fellow students want to sit in front of their tvs and playstations instead, let em. Hopefully the Michigan fans on campus will stay home and watch their horrific team lose again. Us true fans, we'll have a party watching our falcons kick the crap out of Temple. And yes, we'll be all wet, and we'll love every second of it.

It's not the students who don't come out in the rain, it's the townies. And no, most of them are NOT that great of fans. Most are casual fans, at best.

Not good to know that we literally have "fair-weather" fans. You'd think a lot of ppl would come to see the new field & SEBO, along with a very improved FALCON Football team!

This rhetoric is all largely historically based paranoia. From what I've seen there is going to be a lot of excitement around Bowling Green to see the new field and a completed Sebo Center in action. Rain or shine, I think we'll have a big crowd. Sometimes this Negative Nancy crap is just unwarranted. Like...now.

I'd love to see BG get so intense that folks, especially out of towners, start showing up Friday night out in the lots around the stadium. This first game is perfect reason for an early arrival.

Break out your drinko boards, beer pong tables, and cornhole. Get your grills ready. Fire up your FMB cd' and tailgate your azz off.

Being in the band makes it pretty tough for me to tailgate, I went up to MSU and had a blast grilling and partying with the rest of the crowds in the lot. If the falcons weren't any good, tailgating would be my reason for going.

So many people miss out on what might be the most fun you can have on the weekend.
Yeah right girl!

I LIKE THE SIGN IDEA!
Yea we lost yesterday.. but we represented well and I must say I was proud of our effort.
Lets get ready for the home-opener.. and more importantly tailgate!

That'd be a hell of an idea... if we wouldn't have lost 28-14 last year.
