A Couple Notes From Someone at the Game

Post by BGDrew »

- Spartan Stadium is a LOUD venue. That student section was nothing short of impressive. I can't help but think Tyler got a little rattled when the crowd cranked it up. However, you thought BG has problem with it's concessions and bathrooms? Halftime was a clusterf*ck of epic proportions.

- In the 2nd half we just kept running the same pass plays and hoping they'd still work. Props to MSU's defense on picking up on those. You could just tell they knew where it was coming from the way they were jumping routes.

- It was funny hearing how much bitching the crowd was doing about getting beat in the 1st quarter. I clenched my teeth so I would yell "We're not UAB!"

- How nice is it to have a solid kicking/punting game this year?

- Those refs blew. Hard.

- I'm not upset at all about the results of the game today. It was obvious Brandon wasn't trying to open the playbook too much. Today was a payday, not much else. We were very solid in an extremely hostile environment.

- I had no issue whatsoever with the MSU crowd. We were treated decently, if not ignored completely.

Agreed, except for these fools outside the stadium who told us we were in the wrong state

I think I saw those fools (and you may know my brother, BTW). Those were the only idiots I encountered all day long. Out of, what? 80,000 people? That was a classy group of people, for sure.

Agree 100%, there was this other groups of students who ran past us saying if we knew Ali Mann, and that she was sweet, but that BG sucks. There was an other couple behind us who gave us the "they don't represent the fan base" line.

Only other real people who said anything negative were these people who yelled "BG sucks, but you did good last week."

I was in a section of 2,000 MSU fans, the only BG fan around, wearing a bright orange jersey, yelling like an idiot and had almost no problems. I grew up a Michigan State fan so that made me real happy.

I ran into one problem after the halftime clusterfuck to the bathroom where a guy was giving me s**t about being a BG fan. Then I noticed he was wearing a Notre Dame hat and I laughed so hard I wasn't even able to spit out a comeback before I brushed past him :D

Your choice of self-censorship amuses me.

not to mention the spartans have not done much in the big "ten" since when...1987, they are just a good MAC team far from being an "elite" BCS school

That's funny, the censoring program on this website is perfectly OK with clusterfuck.
