Did he remind anyone else a little of CP today? He made some nice catches and took some big hits in stride. Barnes and Parks looked good as well.

I hadn't thought of it, but I can see what you're getting at... he made some nice catches settling into a spot, securing the ball and turning it upfield.

One of the BTN announcers called Marques "Partridge" on that play where he stretched out and *just* missed a nice grab on the near sideline.. I figured Corey would have made the catch.

Brighton had a good day. It's real nice to start to see some WRs step up...still too many drops, but they're growing as a group.

Freak should have some good insight on Brighton. Hell, that was all he could talk about today during the game!

Derek has some great hands and the inherent ability to hold on to the ball even after a big lick. I get the feeling that he is going to be another great possesion reciever for BG. He is an excellent route runner, as well, which always bodes well.

Brighton reminded me a lot of Cole Magner in that he was always up off the ground before the guy who hit him no matter how hard the hit. That's a great attitude to have and a great statement to make to opposing defenses.

Brighton played very well...7 catches for 67 yards. One in particular stands out for me. Sheehan made a high throw near the MSU sideline and Brighton came down with it, turned and lowered the BOOM on #37 Ross Weaver. He basically ran over the guy...very Magnerish...DB stepped up BIG yesterday when needed and for a guy from Allen Park, MI, you know he was juiced up. He was great.

Why is it that every good white wideout is compared to the last one? Corey constatnly draw comparisons to Magner and now Brighton to Corey. Each has their own merits and their own game. Let's appreciate them for what they each bring to the team.

FWIW, Gregg Brandon compared both CP and Brighton to Magner when they were signed.

Groth...Meehan...Szlachcic...Gerling...Magner...Partridge...Brighton...all of them have/had decent speed, great hands and ran really good routes. You wouldn't know that they were of the caucasian persuasion unless they took they're helmets off.

How many non-white guys do you know with long blonde hair and skin as pale as paper?
