Hockey Players Working the Arts Festival

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

We went uptown to the Arts Festival today and saw several hockey players volunteering in the kids areas! They seemed to be having a good time helping the kids!! Talked with two of them and they are VERY excited about the upcoming season. Both are thrilled to have Todd Reirden on staff and very happy with how the goalie situation has turned out (Eno is fitting in quite nicely with the team!). It was great to hear such enthusiasm and gets me very excited about the upcoming hockey season. The guys feel they have a lot to prove after last year's finish!

GO FALCONS!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Same as what I heard this past weekend from them out at the rink when my daughter was skating. Was even offered to see and then shown the new uniforms, good looking i must say, but i was more excited about the high energy from the guys for the upcoming season, the goalies and overall atmosphere they have going.

It almost feels like this year the team just needs to go out and have fun. I feel like the last couple of years we've been forcing the team to be too rigid and by the book. The guys know the game, or they wouldn't be playing at this level. Set up a gameplan and get the guys to create space. On the PP, let them get creative and not do dump and chase everytime. After awhile, space will open and we'll create mismatches.

Just have fun and the wins will come.

BGDrew, I think that's the problem...Pooch doesn't allow them to be creative on the ice.
"Eyeball to eyeball, I said, 'Dr. Cartwright, don't put me in this position if you plan on dropping hockey. That won't happen as long as I'm alive. I'll fight that to my grave." - Jack Vivian

We will be a power again!

Go Falcons!

It has been announced that there will be no dump and chase this year.

A new strategy, "positive puck placement", will be employed.

Just reading that makes me so happy I just shed a single, solitary tear.

I'm too tired to tell if you're being a smartass or not. If not, I'm ecstatic. If you're just being sarcastic, it's going to be a long season.
