No doubt...I hope Ransom can come back...he's missed enough opportunities to injury already.
So far as injuries and pain goes, I once took a History final with a very bad charley horse in my left hamstring. I toughed it out and did a nice job of discussing the Magna Carta's influence on modern democracies. Then I limped home and cried like a little girl.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I for one think that if he's done that could spell big trouble for our offense. Ya geter looked ok but he just didn't have the game ready look that ransom had. You can tell he's a gamer when he's out there on the field and is a heck of a reciever out of the backfield. I for one think that he's actually better out of the backfield than pope just because he's faster. We haven't really gotten a chance to see what our running game can do yet.

That is pretty much exactly what my concern is here too. Ransom played his way ahead of the other RBs. The thing that concerns me the most is, we haven’t really seen what our running game can do this year. The passing game has been clicking which is awesome and I am thrilled to see us finally moving the ball through the air again. But with that said, there are going to be times this year where we have to run the ball. After two games, our leading rusher has 48 yards. That’s really not an indication in how productive our running game can because we haven’t really turned to it to produce. That is why I’m fearing what the loss of Ransom can do to it. He really added another dimension to the running game and I was expecting to see some big things from him once we headed into the MAC schedule. Not to mention, Ransom I also out third leading receiver averaging 13 ypc.moneymaker02 wrote:I for one think that if he's done that could spell big trouble for our offense. GO BG!!!
Right, he seemed to add an element of speed and explosiveness that was missing last year. We had tough plodders, but nobody who was a genuine threat to score from any position on the field. Geter really needs to mature quickly and attempt to fill this role.BGSU33 wrote: He really added another dimension to the running game and I was expecting to see some big things from him once we headed into the MAC schedule. We are all nervous about the running game because we don't know what they can do and they haven't racked up any notable yards. I think this is because of our opponents. If you look at the last few years when we play the BcS teams (Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Purdue) our running game seems to be a non-factor. Most likely because our o-line can't get a big enough push and the other team's LBs are quicker and stuff the run better, not to me
I think we'll see our offense be more balanced and our ground game on track during the next two games (vs. Temple and WKU). Those games will give us more of an indication on how the rushing attack will be throughout the M.A.C. schedule.

I completely agree. I'm all for balance, but I think it was the right call to go through the air against Minny and MSU. I'm hoping that against the weaker MAC schedule, we can get back to the balanced attack from the J5 days (minus the QB runs).Dayons_Den wrote:We are all nervous about the running game because we don't know what they can do and they haven't racked up any notable yards. From the Toledo Blade:
One player BGSU will be without indefinitely is running back Eric Ransom, who injured his knee Saturday in the first half of BGSU's 28-17 loss at Michigan State. Ransom, who was sidelined much of preseason camp with a hamstring issue, will undergo an MRI test later this week.

Let's hope for the best with the test.
