Zippy from the U of Akron is in the running for the Capital One Mascot of the Year contest. Vote online at http://www.capitalonebowl.com.

(And I know the kid that plays Zippy so I thought I'd pimp this out)

Is it ok to be a fan of another school's mascot???

I have always loved Zippy so yes, I will vote for him. I haven't seen Ferris State's bulldog in many years but I used to love him too. Then there is the Rocket--or whatever you want to call it.

I'll give Zippy a vote. Impossible not to love a big furry, happy, Kangaroo, and he's suffered long as the Zips mascot.

We should mount a really effort for Freddie/Frieda for next year.
