Sheehan and a thought...

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Quote from Tyler in the Sentinel...

“I don’t care who we are playing, we should win,” Sheehan said. “We could be playing the Indianapolis Colts and we’ve got a shot to win.”

Love that attitude from the kid...

For those that want to downplay the win at MN and close game at MSU due to these teams being "picked" to finish near the bottom of the Big Ten...I know of another team that was "picked" to win the Big Ten and, possibly, contend for a national title. So much for predictions, eh? Ya can't have it both ways. :-D

Yeah...Sheehan's attitude is definitely an upgrade from what we had in AT last year...and that's tough for me to say because I really wanted to see AT do well this season.

It looks like he is definitely the man this year and I think he will settle for nothing less than a MAC Championship...by the way...he's only a sophomore!

I had my doubts about Sheehan going into this season, but he has ended any of those doubts with his first two games and the team overall performance.

GO BG!
I agree. I knew Sheehan had the physical tools but mentally I wasn't sure. Wow...this kid has ice water in his veins. Even getting drilled in the 4th at MSU, he stood tall and tried to make plays. Kudos to Coach McCall for his work with our QB's!!

Its quite refreshing to be able to use the term field general when referring to Sheehan, cuz we certainly haven't had one since J5.

So Sheehans 700 yards of offense in two games against the big ten, by himself, did not re-ignite our fire but that quote did?

I love his mannerisms and behaviors on the field. He doesn't look tenative, but in that same light he's not overly arrogant. That was so sweet on the 2pt conversion when he got in Kory's grill and was barking out signals. Then the pic I have on here and that Minny fan throwing a tantrum... PRICELESS! I love you TYLER SHEEHAN!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I love the quote from when he walked into the huddle before his touchdown catch...something like "Okay guys, ready to be on SportsCenter?"

I love that he "grew up" over the summer with his passing game... my only wish now is that when they bring AT in for those QB draws, they break out a pass with him here and there to keep defenses honest. Maybe they're saving it for the MAC...

I just wish they would stop running the same play three times in a row, especially when they bring in AT

When it goes for 7 yards the first two times, I don't mind going at it a third... but that's where I think the pass should come into play. He could play action to himself throw the ball.

I believe I made a comment after the Minnesota game about our new quarterbacks field presence. I said that you could see it in the huddle when they would put the camera on him. You could tell that he was going in there and saying that it'll be alright, let's take care of this one. It is definitely something we haven't seen in the last two quarterbacks. As good as Omar Jacobs was and is, he wasn't that on the field leader that could pull a team together at the end of a game and say, we need this game, let's get it done. Sure, there might have been one or two comebacks, I can't truly remember right now. But I do remember when the offense went south a few times along with the defense after getting a good lead at halftime, and then neither coming out in the second half to play. You just didn't have that faith that the offense would come back with a drive when it needed it. I truly got that feeling when offense was sputtering in the second half at Minnesota, and the first half of MSU when they went down 7-0. But both times the offense responded and went up. There is a true leader out there in the huddle at the position that needs it the most, and that is refreshing to see.
