+ 1,000. This harkens back to the Blackney days when he'd send Josh Harris in to run the QB draw up the middle and everyone in the stadium knew what the play was going to be.

I'll allow for the minute possibility that--at least with that play--they're setting something up for use later on in the season.

A few years ago when Urbie was at Utah, they had an H-back named Ben Moa who would always run the draw when they lined him up in the backfield to take a direct snap. They needed a 2 point conversion against Air Force and he faked the run and floated a pop pass to the tight end over the defense. He also ran a similar play at Florida with Tim Tebow last year against LSU.

I wish we would stop using Turner altogether ****because of the role we use him in, which is ALL designed QB draws. In my opinion this is the worst play ever invented and the easiest one for D's to stop. Anyone notice that when we brought TS back in on 3rd and goal HE RAN FOR A TD? That's because the play was designed as a pass and the defense KNEW he was going to pass. This is when it is good to have an "athletic" or "duel threat" QB. I don't want to see Turner play QB unless he is running some sort of option or passing (gag) as much as he's running. But please no more QB draws! It only works when our O-line DOMINATES the other D and Turner runs like his hair is on fire (which isn't often). Until that change happens I'll be cheering for TS to play the whole game, with his designed pass plays that he occasionally tucks it and scrambles on!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

I think the first series of every game we should line up Sheehan, Barnes and Turner all in the backfield at the same time, and watch the defenses eyes cross.

Then we should have Partridge throw.

Ok Lineup GCGTT

Put Shehan in shot gun behind the center with Barnes and Turner flanked

Have partridge stand behind the RG like he will take the snap.

direct snap it to one of the two running backs.

I think Sheehan has just suprised Minny and MSU because no one knew anything about him. He was basicly a surprise. We also changed our offense from last season so basicly Minny was just plain surprised that we were going to throw the ball that much. As it gets deeper into the season teams will know about the offense more, and we will see just how good Sheehan and this offense is. If off. cordinator is smart he would mix it up by running the ball out of the Shotgun and run the ball more. That would have Temple's deffense scrambling around.

I dont' see why having Turner in the shot gun is any different then lining Pope up in the shotgun. Pope ran the ball three times in a row at Toledo in 2004 and was very effective. Tim Tebow was in a similar role last season for Florida. I say keep mixing Turner in there and maybe run an option with him instead of the exact same play.

The only problem is Turner's arm...they are going to know, as soon as they see #17, that it's going to be a run. They would have to have Turner establish the pass before being able to get him rushing yards.

Urban rarely ever let Tebow throw a pass in a key situation last year.

Pope never threw out of that formation when we rant it a few years back.

To me one of the keys, however, is to keep Sheehan in the game as well. Don't give the defense too much notice of what we're going to do.

In the end, the success of those plays are in the execution, moreso than just keeping the opponent guessing. If the OL blocks the running lane will open...it's just quicker than a true typical handoff.
