Nate Brown
Re: Nate Brown
Nate Brown has a chance to be BG's QB of the future. I think he is in a great position to succeed here at BG. He’ll red-shirt this year, he’ll get his chance at some playing time next season, and in the next few years he could have a big impact on the team. I think he's going to be a good one and I can't wait to see him develop - as a Falcon.moneymaker02 wrote:Has anyone considered with the emergence of sheehan and being our starter for the next 3 years, that nate brown might transfer?? Especially if Glaud has improved too as Brandon has said. If we are blowing out WKU or Temple, I would really like to see Glaud get reps. But ya I think that Nate Brown will end up transferring.

Re: Nate Brown
There are many scenarios where am surprised guys don't transfer, usually they are not at BG, maybe it is negative paranoia or maybe I have gotten it embedded in my head from basketball squad. I think it is the latter. Take a situation like Justin Zwick, he might be playing in the NFL right now (well notplaying but on a team) or atleast would have had a much better chance had he transferred to a school where he could play immediately. Look at Maurice Wells. I would think that it is obvious to almost everyone that it was in his best interest to transfer out of OSU. The writing was on the wall. Transfer over to OU, dominate the MAC and take your chances.BGSU33 wrote:Nate Brown has a chance to be BG's QB of the future. I think he is in a great position to succeed here at BG. We have had this debate before and I always fall on the side of if someone younger than you is playing over you, and you still have a transfer year, transfer.
In the situation of Nate Brown it does not make any sense to transfer. If Sheehan avoids injury and plays till 2009, Davis still gets 2010 and 2011. It really does not make sense for Glaud to transfer either. Glaud has a chance to be the QB of this team as a senior and will be the primary backup as a junior if not before. Despite what I said about Zwick, as Anthony Turner goes it makes no sense to transfer either. The NFL won't be knocking on his door to play QB, but if he can show some athletic ability running and catching, (and he can in our system) he may, with his size and quickness, get a look for that alone. Our own Paul Thompson? QB/WR next year? If I am A train I am all for it
The mere fact that a thread has been started about this topic is irritating as hell to me. Nate Brown is a Falcon. Nate Brown is on the team. And I hope he’s a part of the program for four more years to come. Why do we even want to think about him leaving BG? I look at it this way - you know some of the players look at this board. They’re probably told not to, and some of them probably don’t pay any attention to it at all. But I’m sure some of them do. If you were Nate Brown and you saw your name mentioned in a thread on here and you read it and the topic that was being discussed was thoughts on you possibly transferring, wouldn’t you be a little pissed off? I know I would. This kid has a chance to be our QB of the future. I mean I know we’re all pretty much free to post what we want on here for the most part, and I love that because we get to discuss so much information about BG sports and I can’t think of a single place we can gather more information about BG sports than right here on this site. But with all the things we could be discussing on here, I wish this topic wasn’t one of them. Nate, if you’re reading this, I hope like hell to see you here for four more years!!! I think he’s got to potential to be an outstanding player at BG. That’s all I have left to say about this.

The idea that we should limit what we post because a BG player may or may not read it is absurd to me. This is not the BGSU official website. We are here to support BG but be realists. Take out the realist aspect and the discussions would not be worth it.BGSU33 wrote:The mere fact that a thread has been started about this topic is irritating as hell to me. Nate Brown is a Falcon. Re: Nate Brown
Give Glaud reps Ha, Brandon never gives reps to second string during a blowout. He just pads the starters stats. Look back to Omar's breakout season.moneymaker02 wrote:Has anyone considered with the emergence of sheehan and being our starter for the next 3 years, that nate brown might transfer?? Listen, if you have an axe to grind, do so in a thread where people can focus on your allegations and debate them seperately. I find it to be completely pathetic when people make these silly, back-handed comments randomly in in unrelated threads.zeket10 wrote:Give Glaud reps Ha, Brandon never gives reps to second string during a blowout. Grow a pair, man. If you can't debate your assertions on their own merits, keep your mouth shut. I'm sorry, but reading your garbage over the past couple of weeks has really gotten to me.

There. Fixed it for you.Globetrotter wrote:The idea that they might want to transfer because of there situation on the depth chart is realism. Fictitious grass.Flipper wrote:How is completely unsupported speculation about players transferring even remotely connected with "realism"?

That isn't realism at all...it's petty gossip tied to the supposition that an individual player would find the success of a teammate so daunting that he would pack up and leave. the whole premise is tied to the thoughts of an individual who resides completely outside of the body and mind occupied by the one person who has any real insight into the topic...that being Nate Brown himself. There's no "realism" in that process at all.
Why single out Brown? Why not simply say "gee... the early success of a number of players might concieveably lead a few guys behind them to consider moving on in search of more playing time". Even that wouldn't be considered "realism" as it contains the very large supposition that playing time is the central factor in determining if a player stays or leaves. I think Myle's pizza plays a larger role.

As for silver linings, um, would you settle for aluminum? What about an alloy?
