Not quite as bad as Notre Dame, but slightly worse than Michigan.

My thoughts exactly. Any predictions on the final score of the ND - U of M game? It's 31-0 at the half. If I'm Michigan, I don't take my foot off the gas. I want as much confidence as possible with Penn St. on deck. I say Michigan 52 ND 7.

I'd rather beat Minnesota than get humiliated by Kansas.

Stupid ESPN GameCast last night screwed up the score at the end of the third quarter, and listed it as 66-7. I was surprised how disappointed I was to find out it was only 45-7.

We did not get humiliated by Kansas last night. You have no idea what humiliation is if you think we can't do worse than we did last night. Just wait. That "humiliation" may be a highlight by the end of the season. The score was pretty deceiving-could easily have been 66-7. Oh, wait you guys did lose to Temple last year... ;-)

Seriously though, Minnesota's loss to BG and close call to Miami becomes a context issue when Miami gets crushed by UC at home and FAU (FAU?) beats Minnesota. All I can say is - "Thank God its only football."

Minnesota had something like 7 turnovers yesterday against the vaunted FAU defense. I'm guessing they were lucky to not get blown out.

Credit to the FAU team, they are a lot better this year than in years past, and I think they'll be a USF type team down the road. Minnesota is pretty awful, but I don't think our win against them should be diminished at all. It was the first game of the season, Minny was breaking in a new coach, etc. I have to think that the BG game, coupled with the struggles against Miami has really put a damper on the players' confidence there.

MN has some work to do...no doubt about it. ND is worse....that team is horrible. If Navy can't beat them this year, they never will.

Just focus on Temple....remember last year. I'm sure our players do. This week needs to go quickly. :-D

our win over Minny is not saying much right now, just as it would not if we had beaten ND this year...for anything other than Name recognition. Unless Minn can do something in the Big t...it will carry no weight.
If we beat BC that would be something to get excited about as BC is playing good football right now.

You're right on about context. Minny was coming off two draining, emotional overtime games and had to play a fast Florida team in the heat and humidity at their place. The UC/Miami game is a rivalry, a factor that brings a bunch of things into the equation. Each game is its own animal, and my excitiment over the Minnesota win hasn't diminished one iota.

The strands of paranoid negativity could intersect with each other, with Nate Brown now thinking that Sheehan wasn't so impressive after all because it's just Minnesota!
