Doyt Pics

Post by hammb »

Hey guys, ran by the Doyt for some quick photos this evening, I know some were asking about various things, so I figured I'd share with the group.

http://picasaweb.google.com/bhammer/Doyt

Things that jumped out at me:

* Kinda cool that the various concession stands will have different food "specialties". Allows for a greater variety of food, and no matter where you are none of the stands are THAT far of a walk.

* The top of the scoreboard is still salmon, and looks like it'll be staying that way for the year.

* The top of the west side stands look awesome with the "Welcome to the Doyt"

* The mural on the east elevator shaft rocks.

* The view of the field from my season tix looks pretty good :)

* The prices at the concession stand are unfalconbelievable. $3.00 for a pop is Cedar Point territory. $3.00 for popcorn?? Better get about 5 pounds for that price. I'm sure the concessions will be improved, but boy the prices aren't going to be the fun prices we've had for the past years.

* We really are going to Coke :( On the plus side Marco's is the worst pizza in history, and we're switching over to something at least slightly better in Pizza Hut.

* Looks like they're putting some sort of permanent fencing/canopy or something up for the Falcon Club tent...they've got the concrete tore up over there.

Thanks so much for posting these pictures. Although I'll be in town in less than 48 hours it makes me that much more excited to see them in person. We are packing the car up tonight so we can embark on our 12 hour journey promptly at quitin' time tomorrow!!!

One thing I noticed was it appears they have extended the wrought iron fencing with the orange BG across the entire south endzone, looks pretty nice.

The graphics look great, the north endzone looks spectacular, and it appears the south endzone is starting to take a more structured and nice look as well!

Can't wait to get on the road and to the East lot!

I'm merely speculating here. Pepsi may well have made a large contribution for the construction of the scoreboard, and, as a result, been guaranteed a certain number of years of ad placement on the scoreboard.

Good pics, B. Saturday is going to be a beautiful day for football in BG.

(Of course, I thought the Miami(OH) game last year was a beautiful day for football in BG, too... )

Great pictures, thanks for posting those. Now tomorrow is going to feel like a 20 hour day instead of the 10.5 hours it will really be. I love the idea of the banners, but still think the one on the west side should say "Welcome to Doyt L. Perry Stadium," but thats just me. And since I didn't pay for them I don't get a say. Forward progress is better than no progress at all. GO BG!!!!!

No fair, you used a real camera during daylight.

Does anybody know if Falcon Club will have a tent up for Sat? I was going to try to get my renewal in tomorrow, in time for a quick stop on Saturday but maybe there is no rush?

That is true. I noticed that last month when I stopped by for a close up. It looks much better than the black or green regular old chain link fencing they used to have down there.
