Students running on the field

Post by Kaleena08 »

I recieve an email today about how apparently the BGX kids a.k.a. freshman are going to run on the field through the tunnel after the team. Anyone know anything about this or? Is it to promote kids to the game, or just something fun to do?

EDIT: Here is the email I received:

"I'm writing to let you know about an exciting event going on this Saturday. At our first home football game this Saturday against Temple we are letting all first year students rush onto the field right when the players run through the tunnel! This is an exciting opportunity and the start of a brand new tradition here at BGSU.

If you would like to participate, please meet at the north-west end of the stadium at 11:30am to line up. You will need your student ID to get into the game for free. Also, please try to wear your brown BGeX shirt so we can identify you as a first-year student. We'll also have extra shirts to hand out if you can't find yours. Bring friends, classmates, and anyone on your floor with you to share the experience! Look for Peer Facilitators and staff wearing grey BGeX shirts to direct you where to go."

I don't know anything about what you've heard Kaleena, but it sounds like a ploy to get new students acquainted with the team.

Are they going to jump in the pile of players? That'd be all we need, injured freshmen everywhere.

from what I've heard (from freshmen in the FMB anyway) the bgex kids are going to be making a tunnel inside the FMB tunnel (or an extention, not sure which). I've also heard that it is being done because the Freshman Orientation thing normally done on the Sunday before classes start, was cancelled this year. Whether or not these facts are accurate, I have no idea.

I heard something like today too. Strouse pretty has it right. The freshmen are making a tunnel for the players as they come onto the field and they going into the stands and watching the rest of the game. Hopefully it will look cool.

Or worse yet the 5'6".135 lb computer major from Hoboken breaks your 285 lb DT's leg.

This is actually a great idea. Great ploy to culturalize them early.

Bravo and kudos to the Athletic Department! =D>

You can bet that Brandon is keeping that kid that injured Fitch away from the game...to hear Dakich tell it that boy cost Dan his gig here... :-)

I'm sorry, but this sounds like a REALLY bad idea. You just know some idiot is going to follow the team out onto the logo and try to join in, and either hurt himself or somebody else.
