The Good

-A decisive win against a dangerous team that had our number last year.
-Tyler Sheehan and the receivers looking unstoppable at times
-The second half defensive adjustments
-Our newly effective special teams
-Michael Reghi and Doug Chapman’s enthusiasm and commentary

The Bad

-Penalty after penalty after penalty after penalty
-1st half lunging (rectified by 3rd and beginning of 4th quarter tackling)
-Instant replay destroying the flow and momentum of the game
-Only getting Willie Geter the ball in space once

The Amstutz

-Twice having 3rd and 1 and not even attempting to run the ball. There’s a fine line between de-emphasizing the run vs. completely ignoring it and thus allow the defense to ignore it as well.

-This quote from Brandon in the Blade: "It just seems like the level of expectations around here is we have to blow people out, and that isn't going to happen anymore.” So we can never expect to blow out a team again, ever? That’s a stunning quote from a head coach. Of course, the transcript has him quoted differently with a follow-up to provide more context: “It just seems like the expectations around here is that we have to blow people out, and that's not happening anymore. It's a level field; there are only a handful of teams today that can blow people out on a weekly basis.” That sounds a lot better than the first one.

A coach like that means he doesn't know how to RUTS like past coaches. IF you have a team down, finish them, and keep them down, never let your foot up off their throat.

No, I liked them. There were a couple mispronunciations (Briggs/Biggs), but that's to be expected.

Reghi was pumped and seemed to convey the energy that was in the stadium. He's got that Brent Musberger style which I enjoy, although I know some don't. Chapman was well-spoken and knowledgeble, and they both threw in interesting tidbits about both programs throughout the course of the game.

I love Michael Reghi and the work that he does...I just wish that Daniel Gilbert would have realized how much Cleveland loved him when he did Cavs games...Good work Reghi!

If Reghi never did another BG game, it would be fine with me. I, personally, would rather see someone like Dave Weekley to the pbp. Not everyone loves Reghi.

I though our DE's were getting held all day. ALL DAY LONG...And Temple had TWO penalties called on them ALL DAY LONG. BG was penalized 5 times, which isn't bad, but could be better.

The 3rd and 1's? Just run the damn ball behind one of the best O lines in the MAC. We have three very capable tailbacks and one hard nosed FB in Winny. We can get one flippin yard. I was upset by the play calling on those plays like everyone else.

Coach B and staff made excellent adjustments at halftime and Coach Ward rallied that D...they came out for blood in the 2nd half which was GREAT to see. IF that D unit shows up on a weekly basis for 60 minutes, man....they will HURT teams. I want to see more of a running game as well. I understand the passing game is clicking...but there is going to come a time when we'll need a running game or it will bite us in the azz, to quote hammb. Great to see Vrvilo hitting FG's. I think the blocking on punts and kicks has been getting better each week. Obviously Temple isn't Michigan State but still. Iovinelli boomed a nice 49 punt.

All in all, a good day. The team needs work but I like what I see so far. We are playing to win and the team seems jacked to be on the field. With a win over WKU, we would be 3-1 heading into a very tough game with Boston College. We can beat BC...but not playing like we did yesterday. We'll need 5 times the effort to have a chance there.

Most important? BG is 1-0 MAC East...
