Today was my brother in Law's first BG football game as a student but not his first BG football game. He has been a BG football fan for at least 8 years, he was on the field when we tore down goal posts for Toledo and he was their for the Gameday game against NIU plus many more.
It was great to sit there in the Student Section yesterday with him and many of his friends listening him teach other freshman the Falcon Football tradition. I think the student section was great yesterday. My only concern was the empty void in the West Side stands at midfield, if tickets aren't going to be purchased let the students sit there. It looked terrible to start the game.

When I was a student...last year...I always had trouble getting students around me to actually pay attention to the game. This was mostly because we weren't in the game a lot of times during our home games...but when something good would happen and I'd be cheering or doing something, the other students would either be like "What happened?" or just give me looks like "Who's the weirdo?" It's good to see painted bodies and students caring about what is going on during the game on the field...guess the product does matter.

If someone wants to sit there, maybe they could buy a ticket.MAC Falcon wrote:My only concern was the empty void in the West Side stands at midfield, if tickets aren't going to be purchased let the students sit there. It looked terrible to start the game.

Just think what our attendance could be 5 years from now, if after every home game we had a thread titled this, with stories of new fans attending the games!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!
