Toledo gets BCS win
36-35 over Iowa State. Those scoundrels just pulled the third BCS win of the season for the MAC.

Yeah, I don't want to take anything away from the MAC's victories but we really need to stop referring to Iowa State and Minnesota as "BCS Teams." They just happen to be in BCS Conferences. Neither of these teams have even sniffed a BCS Bowl since the advent of the BCS. Still, it looks good when a MAC school beats a Big10 or Big XII team.

+1. ANY win over a BCS conference team is good. I don't care who they played.VDub26Falcon wrote:Yeah, I don't want to take anything away from the MAC's victories but we really need to stop referring to Iowa State and Minnesota as "BCS Teams." Same year I think. Miami had big wins, Toledo beat some ranked teams (maybe that was the year of the #9 Pittsburgh win for us)-BG beat NIU and UT took NIU on the road. But NIU won against , I think, Maryland and Alabama on consectutive weekends. Soemthing like that. Their losses to BG and UT later just proved the strength of the league, or at least the top 4 or 5 teams. The conference hasn't had signature wins like that in a while.
Please, don't use that weak sause arguement. Iowa's crap, plain and simple. When will people learn the transitive property doesn't apply to football? ISU's 1-3, losing to three bad teams. Now which is the abberation, the one win or the three loses? It's kind of like how Syracuse is 1-3 having been blown out three times, but they came up big against Louisville. It doesn't change the fact Syracuse still stinks. Iowa always struggles against ISU anyway. Even in 2002 when Iowa ran the table in the Big Ten they lost at home to ISU.Rightupinthere wrote:And who beat Iowa. Amstutz should call the ISU coach and thank him for that gift he gave the Rockets yesterday. A win is a win no matter how good (or bad) the BCS team is, but ISU has shown how bad they can be this year. If this is what it takes for UT to gain confidence, more power to them. Their game against WMU this weekend will be a better gauge against a pretty good offense.
