Predictions - heck it is Monday

Post by windycityfalcon »

I thought.. hey.. might as well get the predictions going strong on the Monday after a win.
So.. in the battle of Bowling Greens.. the real one vs. the Western Kentucky one..
our Falcons come out strong.. and hold on with another solid performance on D.

BGSU - 41
Western Kentucky - 31

Fair point.. but picks in the first half against Temple cost us some points as did a bad defensive holding call in the red zone at the end of the first half.. when our D nearly had a goal line stand.
You have to remember.. we're young.. we're learning..
Our D .. so far.. has stepped up when it's had to.. which is why I believe we can give up a lot of points.. but still win.

We gave up 35 to Temple and a lot of people (myself included) were very impressed with the way our D played.

My prediction

WKU- 28

BG- 37
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

BG- 45

WKU- 17

Close until the half. It is very hard to gauge how good this team is. They have played a hodge podge schedule since they are independent this year.

With that said, BG has too may weapons on offense.

This could easily be a trap game for us. WKU is a good football team. I'm saying 42-31 Good Guys.

Us - 41
Them - 24

WKU has a D-1 win this year and got some valuable experience out of the UF game. However, I feel the 2nd half of Temple showed what this team can do, and combined with Homecoming and momentum to be 3-1 going into BC, I can't see a let down. Last year's HC was a disaster, and I hope many of the players remember that this year.

Well its like this.
Should the coaches and players look past K...were screwed. this team is not good enough to win games on their heels. Each game needs to be a concerted effort.
this game needs to be full throtle in order build to the dynamic moving into the BC game.
if this game is not 44+ BG to 17 or less will are going to be in trouble. the team needs to just execute and play their best, and look to improve in some specific areas.

I think the game on Saturday will serve as a very useful learning tool for these coaches and this team. Simply put, Temple came out more fired up than we did. And, while that is somewhat understandable in this case (any team SHOULD be fired up through the friggin' roof after what they went through against UConn!), this team needs to learn that they can never let that happen at home. I think the difference in how both teams fared in the first and second halves will help this young team learn that. They know they can be dominant, and they have to make up their minds to be dominant for 60 full minutes. Personally, I think they will be throughout this season.
