I guess that adds a little more incentive for you guys to win the game. I noticed your offense passes around 75% to 80% times a game. Do think it is more by design or necissity? Also didn't Urban Meyer used to be the head coach at BG? What did you guys think about him leaving to go to Utah?

A) We pass by design. To a fault really, we almost refuse to attempt to run. Last year we didn't have a QB so we ran constantly...now that we're getting good QB play we seem to have gone to the other extreme.

B) Yes Urban coached here and revitalized this program.

C) We were pissed he left, because he had just signed an extension and repeatedly said he was not even interviewing anywhere else, until he announced his departure. It was pretty ugly around here then. Most of us realized in the end he had a chance to triple his salary and move to a school with much better facilities. We're pretty over it now...at least most of us are, and many of us still root for him.

Basically what Hammb said, the offense has always been geared to throw the ball, last year we just hit a snag with having a QB who just couldn't execute. He'd look good one series, then overthrow a guy by 10 yards the next. Due to that we basically ran a pistol and standard shotgun offense with a myriad of stupid QB draws, 3-4 yard passes with less than desired results. Tyler's emergence this year has helped us to regain what made this team successful, and for that we are excited.

I wasn't here when all the Urban noise went down, I just remember as a kid in high school being really excited to come here for the football team when BG formally accepted me in. Once he left though, there was kind of a void in terms of interest in the team outside of the 2003 season, and from there we've kind of seen a steady decline in both attendance and on-field performance. Again, we hope this year turns it all around. One thing Urban said when he came here was that we had a good team in a bad program, and he proved that by maximizing what Gary Blackney (previous coach) had recruited. Urban was one of a select few reasons BG was ranked when they were.

The overall reaction to him leaving was pretty much disgust, as hammb mentioned. He played the university with his extension, then bolted and went undefeated at Utah. I rooted for him in the National Champ. Game and will continue to do so. No matter how you like him or whatnot, he put this school on the map in terms of college football respect and really helped to showcase the MAC in a positive way. The last game he coached for us was a 42-24 defeat at Toledo...what a way to go out...

Ditto. I root for him every time now but was po'ed as heck when he took off...it was the way he did that made me angry. But, it is what it is and he's obviously one of the best coaches in America. His azz whuppin of Ohio State last Jan was a thing of beauty.

Regardless of what a lot of people feel about Urban, BG still means a lot to him. He made a very generous donation towards the construction of the Sebo Center which I thought was pretty classy. BG gave him his start and I guess it was his way to show his appreciation for that.

Urban was instrumental in getting it built, really. When Bob Sebo talked to him when he was coaching here, Urban commented on how bad the facilities were becoming. Bob took that as an initiative to get this all organized, and low and behold it's done. Kudos to Urbie on that one.

That is very cool that he made a donation for the SEBO. I can remember him always mentioning a new building and that the plans were there and that is what this program needed to move to the next level. When they were raising initial funds I hoped that someone in the AD contacted him and that is great they did and that he was receptive.

Urbie's donation was somewhere between 25 and 50k. The BG News had a four page insert and just the Sebo center today. All the donors are liseted by the size of their contribution. Good idea with not so good writing, I think the girl who wrote the whole thing uses he siad, she said, they said about a million times.
