Daniels column in the BG News

Post by Metz »

Colin wrote a nice piece on AD. I'm sure there are some quotes in here you all might like...especially the ones about him being around more now that a certain coach is gone.

If Orr's a stand up guy I guess Dan was more of a sit down guy...or maybe he was a croucher?

AD was sporting some serious "bling" (is that still a part of the current lexicon?) at the game. He was signing some autographs and that watch of his caught the sun and damned near blinded me.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Yeah, something tells me that AD would've never played for a guy like DD.

You do understand that he played for a year under Dakich, right?
No, he didn't.

Antonio was drafted in the '97 draft. Dakich didn't arrive until the 97-98 season.

Always good for the new coach to keep the old players connected to the program. Another positive for Coach Orr.

This is the perfect year to induct AD with a new coach and the facility needs for the program beginning serious direction this year, I hope. Hopefully they can utilize AD and some other former players as part of the fundraising effort to attract donors and again in the design phase.

I have a feeling AD is well aware that he'll probably be getting a call about that sometime in the near future...

My mistake. I was thinking Antonio was drafted in 1998.
