That is why I don't bet on football. BC ranked in the top 15 beating a Div 1AA or whatever they are called now by 10. It doesn't make sense. I wonder what the line will open at?

Go BG!!

They will EASILY be ranked in the top 10 next week. This is potentially the biggest upset in the history of Bowling Green football in terms of ranking!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Yes they will be ranked in the top 10. Look at what happened to the rest of the top 25 today:

#1 USC - Up 17-14 against Washington
#2 LSU - W against Tulane
#3 Oklahoma - LOST to Colorado
#4 Florida - losing to Auburn 17-3
#5 West Virginia - LOST to South Florida
#6 California - W against Oregon
#7 Texas - LOST to Kansas State
#8 Ohio State - Up 23-7 against Minnesota :x
#9 Wisconsin - W against Michigan State 37-34 :x
#10 Rutgers - LOST to Maryland
#11 Oregon - LOST to California

So 5 teams in front of Boston College lost today, another is losing, and another is only up a field goal. BC will be ranked at least 8th, they'll jump Texas, Rutgers, and Oregon for sure, and depending on the situation, they might jump either West Virginia or Florida as well.

And would be one of the biggest wins in MAC history and certainly the biggest since 2003 by a MAC team. It will be a tough test, however, but maybe BC will be looking ahead to the beating they are going to put on Notre Dame the week after the Falcons come calling.

Let's hope they're looking ahead. I'll be looking for it on television for sure. BG played well today, but still things to improve on.

BG's chanes vs BC.......

Post by Falconboy »

Is BC beatable , I'd say yes. But the chances of us beating BC are lower than I thought 2 weeks ago after our 2 contests vs the B10. First giving 35pts to Temple and now giving up 311 rushing yds to WKU. They run the spread O too like us, but apparently have better blocking O-lineman even though they are much smaller than ours. Had our D not been awake for all of WKU's miscues on O and gotten that fumble and 4 or 5 picks , WKU would've been in the game and had a chance to win. Luckily for us the D was ready for all of WKU's mistakes.

Right now our team is hit or miss at times. We look really good on O at times and then really predictable at others. The D manages to be dominate at times then seemingly falls asleep abit late in the 3rd qtr and especially in the 4th. Maybe it was all the 2nd team , but even if it was all the 2nd team D it still isn't good to give up 14 pts in the 3rd and 4th qtrs.

The injuries are slowly starting to pile up again. N. Davis went out of the game with a knee or ankle issue , don't remember seeing him ever go back in. I don't know if this is encouraging or not but saw Ransom on the sidelines walking around pretty well with no brace or padding of any kind. I though he had his surgery already but maybe not, plus I though maybe he'd be wearing something on his knee but maybe I'm wrong.

Geter is one quick and fast dude. We just need to open a few more holes and he could average 100 yds a game easily if we actually ran the ball with a purpose.

Oh yeah, and the penalties were atrocious. Some of them were completely bogus like the PI AGAIN, but for the most part we were shooting our selves in the foot with driving killing penalties. 1 TD was taken away in exchange for a FG cuz of a penalty. The O-line needs to get better in that department as well. In fact the whole team needs to be more disciplined in this area.

All in all a nice win. Lets get rested up to take on BC, a tough opponent on th road.

Not sure why they would look ahead to ND when we're 3-1 with a win over Minnesota. ND might be the worst team on their schedule.

I have no idea how this game is going to play out. Should be an exciting and interesting week.

I think they were inferring that because ND looks so bad, they could really put a THUMPING on them. I know people around campus this week were talking about Purdue hanging 50+ on the Irish even though that didn't happen. I certainly think we have a chance to win. It would definitely be a HUGE win for us, coming off a 3-1 start and 20K attendance.. maybe this is OUR YEAR! GO FALCONS!

When I looked at BC's sched before the season started I thought the placement of our game the week before ND would be a big benefit. I don't think it is anymore. But there may be a little looking ahead for BC.

I also hope we got the penalties out of our system. We will have to play near perfect to win.

I'm not sure hoe beatable the Eagles are. We couldn't pull out a win against MSU. What is MSU ranked? It certainly isn't #15. There is nothing that would make me happier, but the realistc side of me is holding me back a little.

Let's be happy that we're even talking this positively! Would we have said that our Falcons had a chance last year against Doug Flutie U.? No way!!! Our 2nd team defense gave up a lot of yards in the 2nd half. That doesn't bother me. Some of our penalties were on account of ref's being plain bad! That doesn't so much bother me. Not being able to get the ball moving on the ground, that bothers me.

As far as injuries go, Davis was walking around fine was stretching on the sidelines, so I'd have to guess he was okay, but they were holding him out of the game because it was basically over with. Why risk injuring him? Hopefully a few days of rest will give enough time to heal so he can be a factor in next's week upset of BC! Looking forward to this game on ESPNU!

Definately beatable.

2 side questions...Any Cleveland/BG fans doing that BG/CLE double header Sat/Sun? Browns in Foxboro.
Also, anyone going to the red sox game on Friday? I'll be there, never been to Fenway looking forward to it.

BC is going to be ranked in the top 10 next Saturday, but don't let that fool you into believing that they are a legit top 10 team that we should be afraid of IMO. They are probably better than MSU on a neutral field, but, based on the limited amount that I have seen of BC, I think we have a legitimate shot. I am cautiously optimistic that we can get one of the biggest wins in school history next Saturday. Win or lose, I hope we get out of there with no further injuries. We have a huge 4 week stretch starting 10/13.
