WKU Game thoughts

Post by bgmaggot00 »

For someone who couldn't watch the game myself, anyone have any general thoughts? How was the play? 1st and 2nd teams? Rushing and Passing? Line play? Defense? Etc... Muchas Gracias.

wow...what's with taking last years Orange Uni's and adding an interlocking "BG" on the front? Why didn't they get Uni's that match the White ones? That would be a sweet Orange jersey...those uni's don't match...they aren't "uniform" with the rest of the look of the Falcons...come on GC, what's up with that?

Here's my thoughts from the game.....WKU cheap shot artists, we should not play them again. This is a game I'm sure they thought they could compete in they def. could not. This was a beating in every sense of it. Sheehan looked very sharp, Geter got into some space and made some nice plays. Overall this was a great get ready game for BC. Allthough after reading some other posts it looks like we might be banged up a lil bit.

And great to see a sea of Orange and Brown. The crowd was great and the student section was huge for this one!

It seemed like every other play the toppers were taking a shot at someone. It also seemed like the only people getting called for it were the guys in orange. Aweful lot of laundry on the field the whole day, not much of which seemed justified.

Back in '04 my dad loved watching Omar play. Last night at Trotters after the game he mentioned watching Sheehan play was even better. Grandpa couldn't stop complaining about all the penalties. Sheehan's arm is POWERFUL. Some of the throws he made on the out routes to the end zone were so on the money that I couldn't believe he's just a true sophomore.

After the game, seeing the way the two teams hated each other, and knowing about the wager, an annual game seemed like it could have been the start of something awesome. The more I think of it, playing them could be a setup for disaster. The cheap shots may get worse every year and we may end up losing real improtant players to real serious injuries.
Yeah right girl!

Well during the 05-06 basketball season the men's basketball team had new white jerseys and the old orange jerseys, may be we couldn't get both in the same year

Congratulations on your victory. The Falcons really dominated the second half and gave us (WKU) a good yardstick of what we need to do to ever compete at the Division I Bowl Subdivision level.

I really hate to hear about the "cheap shots", although from just looking at our (WKU) penalties (Each team had 10 for over 90 yards, though I think more of ours might have been of the sportsmanship or unnecessary roughness type), I cannot say that the assessment is unjustified. I obviously did not see the game. I hope we clean up our act and what on the surface looks like a great rivalry possibility might continue. I certainly do not think that you guys (y'all) tried to run up the score and that you did show mercy.

According to our future schedules, you are playing a return game in Bowling Green, KY, during the 2010 season. Hopefully a two-year cooling-off will renew interest in continuing he rivalry on your part.

That was an unpleasant surprise to me. I didn't think we'd see those things ever again.

I like the orange unis a lot as well. Sure the brown ones are amazing, but I wish we would only wear them sparingly. Kinda like ND does with their green ones!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

The brown uniforms look better to me but the orange were a perfect match for the large amount of orange in the crowd today. Looking back at the west side from my seats of the week it was an awesome site. Very nice crowd and well dressed.

The Hilltoppers came out ready but our Falcons were a little sluggish. The key to the game was taking advantage of turnovers. The offense started slow but Sheehan hit the recievers as expected and the recievers made plays after that. The defense gave up yards but seemed to close them down when needed.

Overall they'll need a better effort throughout the MAC and definitely this week. They looked better against Minnie and State. The W is the key and now they have improvement to make. Things are looking good for our Falcons. Beat BC!
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

I actually wasn't that enthused with the overall play of our defense, but we got the win, which is nice. They were able to run pretty much up & down the field, but they were not a consistent passing team. We were fortunate that they made enough errors/turnovers to stop themselves from scoring points.

The offense looked decent, it was nice to see some under center plays in meaningful minutes. Bullock looked good, they really need to let him play more often, but Geter looked quick as well.

The defense will need a much improved effort next week or we'll give up 50+ points.

I was very impressed with Sheehan. I think it was late in the first when I saw him going into the locker room with his right arm just kind of hanging with no motion and I thought “Oh poop”. But then he came back out in the second and was throwing just as hard as ever and not afraid to tuck it and take a hit. Way to go.
So did anybody notice that turner is not #2 any more? Glaud did an ok job of coming in off the bench and going 4-8. I was impressed with such the deep pass on his first attempt, so much for starting small and building confidence, he came out firing. too bad he missed him by about 4 yards.

Could it be that our orange unis are now what the brown ones used to be?
Maybe we wore them because it was homecoming?? Just a thought.
