Heck, I was moaning and groaning about my sore legs today, and I'm only 23!

It was a lot of fun, though. I like the FMB's choreographed moves for the stand-tunes. It looks really good!

Not only are my legs hurting, but on my left shoulder there is a knot the size of Tom Srail's nose.

on a side note......why were there so many FMB members at the concession stands after half time? It seemed like the entire band were taking trips to the bathroom and making phone calls. I realize that you leave earlier for the game and by the 3rd quarter it's like 6 hours without food. But won't that be better for the after-game-festivities-drinking-milk-time?

I didn't even think about leaving..well maybe that's because in the 3rd quarter we did TUBA CHEEEEEERRRRSS!!!!!!!!!

#1 - We still do Tuba Cheers...

#2 - Niz...please tell me how we weren't supposed to take offense to that, I realize that the setups are a good majority of what we do, but please take the time to respect us enough to call us by our real name, Kappa Kappa Psi.

#3 - Alumni band was unFalconbelievable!! Way to come out and support your Alma Mater! (Granted, I'm sure the wonderful weather helped the cause)

#4 Preston, I hate to tell ya, but if you want to toot your own horn, don't ask me to give you a hand.

#5 GO FALCONS!! BEAT THE EAGLES!!

Hey, you should know better than to say something like that on the Band forum Preston. You've been around long enough to know the kind of people that join the FMB (past and present). :-D

I suppose this has been asked/answered before, but why does the band always play to the student side of the stadium?????? It would be nice if they played to the paying-side of the stadium, i.e., the East side on occasion. Having to always listen/watch them from their back side gives me cause to go to the concession stand. I've been to at least two other stadia in the past couple of years and the bands at these universities played to every body. The Central Mich band always plays to the West Stands --- where the paid customers hang out.

The "student side" of the stadium is what we consider to be the home side of the stadium, and in essence makes sense that we play most of our shows to that side. On occasion we have split the band and played to both sides, but that's a pretty rare occurance. Besides, no offense to you Sooner, but there always seems to be more paid fans on the west side of the stadium than on the east (I know where the student section is as well because they all stand). In anycase, from where I sit with the FMB, the west side has had more fans (whether student or otherwise) than the east side, so it sort of makes sense that we play to that side.

Yeah, you're right Strouse. The mind goes with age my friend...lol

As for the topic of playing to the east stands though....In past years, 2002 specifically comes to mind (and maybe prior? Alums help me out on this one), the FMB did perform to both sides of the stadium. The band would perform song #1 to the home/student side, song #2 to the "away" side, and then finish the show back towards the home side. In addition, the band also used to perform one song to the 'away' side during pregame - that being the now non-existent visitors fight song.

There's no visitor's fight song any more? That was the second best part of pre-game!

The salute after the visitor's fight song and the kneel bow were my two favorite things about the FMB. Sad to see them go. It was also always fun to play I've been working on the railroad instead of the toledo fight song.
Yeah right girl!

That sounds correct to my aging mind. In addition, I remember you tooting my horn a few times while we lived together. In addition, I remember our phones tooting their respective horns on the way to Oklahoma in '04. Oh yeah, my copies of K1 and K2 are just fine (MUCHAS GRACIAS), but the K3 DVD doesn't work. Thoughts?

Agreed. I remember many a people (myself included) asking on the field prior to its performance "Hey, what key is this in?," and then improving from there. With bass lines in marches, that's usually pretty simple.

Sucks that that's out of pregame. Sucks.

*sigh*

The martini's I was drinking whilst you all were taking the field were good, but I would have rather been there.

I missed marching. :(
