Nice reload of offensive lineman if these verbals hold-up.

Recruiting
From What I understand, BG has 11 schollys.
They want 5 DB's, 5 OL, and a Kicker.
Phillips from Clyd eis #1 on theior list as a kicker/punter/.

Interesting about the K/P. I don't get in to recruiting that much because it seems a bit ridiculous to track 17 year old kids who might become Falcons or who might blow out their knee and never play again.
But, I was wondering about the Kicker situation with two Juniors I was wondering if we would bring in scholarship kicker or punter next season to "learn the ropes" so we aren't faced with true freshman, as we all know how well Brandon liked that experiment.

Chip Robinson - Middletown, Ohio - Ht: 6-5.5 Wt: 370

Word is BG has verbals from these four Offensive Linemen. If they got the kid from Colerain, that is five. Also heard another Lineman is close to verballing. Looks to be a good class.

Athlete - Briggs Orsbon
Another guy that interests me a lot is Briggs Orsbon from Convoy Crestview. Yes, the same school that gave BG Kory Lichtenstieger. I've seen highlights of him online and I am very impressed. I want to see this kid become a Falcon.
Here's the tale of the tape:
Ht. - 6'0"
Wt. - 180 lbs.
40 - 4.4 sec
Vert. - 33"
Rivals Rankings - #85 WR Nationally, #34 Player in Ohio
Scout.com has him with six offers...
Air Force
Akron
Ball State
Bowling Green
Ohio U
Toledo
*Also interest from Purdue, but no offer per scout.com*
Not only that, but he's a good student... 3.9 GPA, 22 ACT. Gotta love those kinds of kids.
"I believe I play like a mix between Reggie Bush and Ted Ginn. I am fast, I return punts and kicks, I run the ball, and catch the ball. I label myself more as a mult-purpose back rather than a reciever." - Briggs Orsbon
''Briggs is one of the hardest working kids I have ever been around. He is goal oriented and will work hard to achieve those goals. He is a phenominal athlete that also is a great student in school. Lastly, and most importantly, he is a student of the game, continually watching film and learning about what it takes to be the best.''

Re: Athlete - Briggs Orsbon
DU 53... not sure, but I THOUGHT I'd read somewhere, perhaps on one of the websites, that he might've verballed to Ball State... Also thought that the projections on him were for the WR position.... but looks like a solid type kid who'd fit in well with us....as to all those O-linemen, I've already mentioned a need to "reload" that position, but I thought that the REALLY BIG kid from Middletown hadn't been offered by us...might be wrong by this time.duckunder53 wrote:Another guy that interests me a lot is Briggs Orsbon from Convoy Crestview. Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
Re: Recruiting
I'd love confirmation on the number of schollies available. In theory, with fewer schollies to use, we might be able to recruit our targets harder.ClydeSBCFAN wrote:From What I understand, BG has 11 schollys.

Re: Athlete - Briggs Orsbon
I hope you're wrong about Orsbon, but it wouldn't surprise me. I didn't think that BG offered both of the Middletown boys either, but I have been told differently by someone who has a pretty good idea about this class.Class of 61 wrote:DU 53... not sure, but I THOUGHT I'd read somewhere, perhaps on one of the websites, that he might've verballed to Ball State...
