Statistically we can win this game. Boston College is last in the ACC in Pass Defense. Sheehan needs to put it up ALL DAY!
I think its possible we could put up 30+ on the board.
If our defense can hold up, and keep BC somewhat in check, we have a great shot at pulling a major upset....
I'm really excited about this game!!!
Will this be on TV at all??

Despite the ranking, we are far from a perfect team. We have not played very well of late and were lucky to beat Army and UMass. So, this game will be a huge challenge for us.
The big problem we have is the lack of a running game. When you run the ball close to 40 times against a Div 1AA team, 125 yards is inevitable - not special. The reality is we have three very average running backs. Callendar is Ok in the passing game, but is not much of a speed threat. Whitworth is slow and has trouble finding holes. Brooks is a fumbler and a major liability in the passing game. Overall, we could not get 300 yards against a team of girl scouts.
Th other problem we have is our pass defense is terrible. So far, teams have been able to throw at will if they have a decent QB. We got lucky against NC State as their QB is terrible. GT did not try to throw much, which was fortunate.
The strength of the team is Matt Ryan. But, he seems to be regressing. Maybe it is the hype going to his head. He can carry the team by himself and tends to get it together when needed. Lately, the offense has been terrible, but we are hoping it turns around quick.
The other strength is the run defense. We stop everyone.
Anyway, I hope this gives you some perspective.
I predict (hope) BC 35 BGSU 27
Welcome OJ. Thank you for a very informative and non-biased post. It would make sense for BC to win, but I just have a feeling the stars will align for BGSU. For whatever reason we are THEE best MAC team at playing well on the road against highly ranked opponents. So games like this are usually the best team games we play all year long. A lot of us would be willing to trade that for MAC Championships myself included, but realistically we are just more excited to play a big time opponent. Either way the game goes I'll be pulling for BC the rest of the year, so best of luck to you and yours. Here's to an exciting and injury free game!
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

For those of you on the fence about making a trip, check out these ticket prices:

If I wasn't a poor college student I could definitely pick up those $7 tickets.

Well, I will be in Napoleon, OH, for my girlfriend's sisters wedding, so I won't get to watch this one. It's too bad too, because I think we've got a great shot at pulling this one out. Boston College's pass defense is somewhat maligned, so as long as the OL can pass protect well, Sheehan should have a field day. This game will come down to the defense and how well they can slow down Matt Ryan and the BC attack. If they do well with that, then it could be a monster upset for BGSU.
I have a bad hunch we're overlooking something though. Teams don't get ranked #7 by accident.
Prediction
Bowling Green 31
Boston College 35
BG plays hard and leads at the half, but can't score enough in the second half to keep pace, and BC pulls out a hard fought game. Obviously, I hope to hell I'm wrong for the first time this season.

We can win, but it's gonna need to be a near flawless game on both sides of the ball. All I'm asking for is a good showing on national TV and no injuries. This is our chance to prove to the rest of the MAC though that we will be the team to beat. It is a glorious opportunity for our players and coaches and I hope they seize the chance.
