Had a minute to log on...

We are heading over to Dana's uncle's house for some fall fun on four wheelers and a hayride.

As far as yesterday? Turnovers will kill you every time. EVERY time. I think Tyler tried to force some things and it bit us in the ass. I thought the D was too soft....not once did I see any kind of pressure on Ryan.

Maybe BC really is that good? They were impressive and disciplined. THey are also a veteran team while we are still pretty young. Give them credit for making the BiG plays against us. I hope they run the table and go to the BCS title game.

For those out there trashing the team you were just raving about a week ago...it is ONE game. It happens. Va Tech got routed by LSU a couple weeks ago 48-7. Yesterday they won a very big game AT Clemson. Yesterday's game meant NOTHING in the MAC...nothing. Our goal is to win the league title and I think we still have a great chance to do that.

Kent State, the pre-season fave in the East? They are on the brink of elimination after losing to Miami at home. They have 2 East losses now. Where is mighty Ohio U? Yeah, they're done as well. As I said before, keep an eye on Buffalo....I'm serious.

At the beginning of the season, I thought if BG were 2-3, 1-0 MAC after 5 games, I would be happy with that. Well, we're 3-2, 1-0 MAC. We can realistically beat every team on remainder of the sked. At least we aren't Toledo....almost lost to Liberty at HOME??? When the 2007 sked came out, there was one game on it that I felt we probably wouldn't win...BC. That is a damn good football team over there.

I'll bet the team was over this game on the plane home...yeah it sucked to watch that but it doens't stop us from winning the MAC>

I can't wait to hit the road Friday for Oxford. NOW the season begins!!!!

I agree 100%. I just hope Tyler's confidence wasn't shaken. He looked very good in the WKU game. I hope everyone takes the next several weeks ONE GAME at a time. Win @ Miami would do wonders.

I certainly don't mean to trash the team, but this was pretty much the story of the game in a nutshell.

Tyler got a little antsy and started tossing balls that he hasn't been throwing this year. He's a young QB he'll learn from his mistakes.

The defensive gameplan was just terrible. Absolutely pathetic, IMO. I really think the defensive coaching staff owes their players an apology. You cannot gameplan to keep everything in front of you when you're playing a Heisman quality QB. He'll sit back and eat that apart all day. BC played a nearly flawless game, but we didn't do anything to pressure their offense into making any mistakes. I may be in the minority but I would've much preferred to take an aggressive plan and possibly get burnt deep a couple times to watching Ryan dink us for 5-7 yards every single time he dropped back...especially since we weren't able to tackle well anyways and still let one of those short ones turn into a 50+ yard TD.

The only other thing I'll say, and I know I sound like a broken record, is that I think our lack of a running game really hurt us yesterday. When you have a young QB, obviously rattled, it'd be real nice to go to a running game and try to get him to settle down. Unfortunately our offense requires him to be tossing the ball around, and the mistakes just piled up. I'm sure he'll learn from them, but it would be nice to have a legit run game to fall back on.

I agree , I also may have a change my attitude over our lack of trying to blitz. Even though I don't believe we would've gotten much pressure much less touched Ryan at all , I believe it would've been better to at least try to put pressure on the qb rather than sit back on our heels and getting picked apart that way. It was almost like we were playing prevent D all day.

Well that game is over, time for a case of Alzheimer's and move on to Miami(Oh).

Well, that depends upon which channel you were watching. Stupid ESPN still showed us and Temple with 0-0 conference records on the bottom line of their Friday night telecast. And then even worse Saturday, the MAC telecast on FoxSportsnet had us with a record of 1-1 in the conference, but maybe BC is in the conference now.

Or maybe they've moved us to the B10.

Good points, hammb. I thought our D plan was not good at all. We never got any pressure on Ryan. I agree with ya there. Would have loved to see some blitzes like BC did to Tyler. If ya get beat, so be it but ya gotta do something to get to Ryan.

As far as the running game? BC came into the game giving up an average of 48 ypgs on the ground. I think we finished with 64. I would have liked to see more aggressive playcalling at least trying to get the running game more involved.

I think Tyler will be fine. Sure he had a bad day but he's a very mature SO. He'll learn from his mistakes and move on.

File it away and look forward. 7 straight MAC games....this is where the fun begins.
