My guess would be good luck finding a hotel close to Oxford (if there is such a thing) it's their homecoming.

The hotel closest to the bars is a Holiday Inn on S. Main St. It's not cheap.

There are a couple of hotels on Rte 27 (College Corner Pike) a little NW of downtown and a Best Western close to the football field. There may even be a hotel on campus called the Miami Inn.

It's a college town. Be prepared to walk. For the Temple-BG game I stayed by Fricker's/Bob Evans and walked to Howard's.

I will be in Miami along with my girlfriend. I live nearby so it'll also be nice to stop home for the first time since August.

Very cool, Den. Should be a beautiful day Sat. We are heading in Friday Afternoon to do some hiking in Hueston Woods. Staying at the park lodge and hoping to visit the HW Raptor Rehabilitation Center.

I hope to be in the lot next to Millet Hall by 11:30-12 Sat.

GO FALCONS!

for those of you making the trip down here to oxford, i STRONGLY recommend taking a look at our new ice arena that opened up for last season. The place is incredible. It is located down near the rec center, on the south side of campus, placed in between Oak St. and Campus Ave.

Also, when driving on high street, you will notice a few new buildings, the new engineering building is the long one, with one of the buildings still under construction, and behind there is the new psychology building, both are amazing.

I hope you all enjoy your visit in Oxford, it is our Homecoming weekend, so hopefully there will be a lot going on! Let me know if you have any questions.

rhf18,

The pix of the new Ice arena look amazing. MU is really a beautiful campus and town...love going there in mid fall as it always seems a bit warmer than up north.

What street is that big parking lot next to Millet? Or, is there a better place for BG fans to hook up? I posted another thread about this so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

most visiting fans do tailgate in the West Millet Parking Lot. If you get there more than 3 hours before the game, its FREE. Otherwise it is $7. The lot is off of sycamore, but you just pull in where you would to go to a basketball/football game anyways, then park where you want.

Thanks for the help! Free parking 3 hours or before? Gotta make sure to get there at 11:30. ;)

No doubt...I started looking the weekend of the MSU game. I found a cabin at the KOA outside of Dayton. What the hell...I get to see the sights of metropolitan Eaton and greater Camden on my way through.

Of course...I didn't try the smaller hotels on the edge of town. I stayed in a few of those when I was dating a Miami girl a waaaaaaaaaaay long time ago. Some memories just aren't worth reliving. :-)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

There is no way to get a hotel room this weekend, these rooms are booked almost a year in advance, and anyway you have to reserve both Friday and Saturday night to stay in a hotel this weekend. The town will be packed to the gills regardless of how many fans actually go to the games. If you travel into town, I recommend finding an alternate route into Oxford other than the typical one's on the regular highway as the roads tend to get stopped up.

I won't give you my secret way into Oxford, however I strongly suggest looking at a map and not traveling any farther south than Camden if you are headed from the Northwest Ohio area, before you use some back roads.

I'm coming from Lexington, and use US27 into Oxford (I get on 27 from 275 in Cincy). You don't happen to have a secret faster way than that to you?
