This is one of the few times that I can say I'm glad there's so much planned for the weekend. It will help the time pass quickly.

this is the first weekend this year that I can jsut sit on the couch, drink some beer, and watch football. Id rather be at the hockey game sat(obviously) but not driving this weekend is just looking too good.

I agree though, Tuesday cannot come soon enough

toledo game
seinfeld on DVD
Ill have finished building my new comp(monday night)
World of WarCraft release

the day has potential to be the most epic of all time.

YAY! Seinfeld on DVD!

What kind of rig you putting together man? I bought my new computer a little over a year ago. I was about to build it (as I had my previous one), but I realized I could buy the exact same computer on e-bay already put together for about $50 less than what I could buy the parts for! :(

Hammb, here's what I got-

AMD Athlon 64 3400 proc
ASUS NVIDIA nForce3 Chipset For AMD Socket 754 CPU
1 GB(for now) Corsair DDR PC3200 dual channel RAM(ill upgrade to 2GB soon)
Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000RPM SATA Hard Drive
Lite-On 8X Double Layer DVD+/-RW Drive
EVGA nVidia GeForce 6800 GT Vid card (my baby)

plus the essentials like floppy and Zip drives, onboard sound on the Mobo

I got a NzXT Guardian case very cool looking. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDe ... 003&depa=1

I plan to add some more LED fans and cold cathode lighting to the tower later. (no funds right now)

All told it cost a little under $1300 for the set up. I should get around $500 for my current machine, though I havent found a buyer yet. (which I will use for a smooth 19" LCD monitor!)

shamless plug: Im selling my old comp! for $500 you get:

P4 1.6 Ghz proc
768 RAM
CD burner
30 GB HDD
DVD ROM drive
17" CRT monitor
speakers w/ sub
keyboard & mouse (if you need)
fully loaded with Windows XP professional, and Office 2003!

Any other details feel free to ask! (ill post this in free for all later too)

This is the first weekend since 9/24 ( :x ) that I will be able to watch college football all day and all night!!!! Yeah!!! :D
I love going to almost every BG game but it sure is nice to just plop down in front of the TV with the remote and check out games all over the place.

Sounds like a nice machine. My initial reaction is that you gotta love the Asus Mobo. Tell ya what, I don't think I'd ever buy another brand of mobo, I've had good success with them.

However, a relatively inexpensive upgrade (can be had for < $100) is to ditch the onboard sound for a Creative Audigy 2. The sound quality for your surround sound coming out of the Audigy2 will blow you away, especially for games, and I know you're into games. That case looks pretty tight too. I bought a big ass Thermaltake server style case with the clear side. Once you have a PC with a premium case you'll never go back. The thing his heavier than all get out, but my god is it easy to work on when you need to.

yeah I thought about a sound card, really, i dont have surround speakers, and it doesnt make that much of a difference to me. I spent that extra money in getting a monster of a graphics card.

onboard sound is jsut fine for me, I dont notice that big of a difference to validate spending any money on it. Thanks for the tip though! I know a lot of people that agree with that wholeheartedly. I have jsut never been a big fan of a soundcard.
