Interesting schedule. BG doesn't play a home game until 4/11 vs EMU for a DH? They play in 4 pre MAC Tourneys and have 29 games on the road to start the season.
I understand the weather in BG isn't great for softball in March but man...
BG then plays 10 straight at home and finishes with 6 on the road. Interesting...a very challenging sked with plenty of big name teams on it. OSU, Michigan, Auburn, Iowa, Iowa State...and multiple games with Michigan State. The release stated all the all time series with each team and I didn't know BG led Sparty 11-6 all time. BG leads UT 52-33 all time.
I am jacked. I see Coach Salsburg is recruiting NE OH hard...Coach knows the NE OH area pretty well from her days at Kent, I'm sure.
On this year's roster, Melissa Bott, FR P, is from my alma mater...Dover. Great to see her in the orange and brown! Also have a player from Green, where the Freaklings go, Lauren Rocklich, F C/OF. Lots of Akron/Canton area talent...another player from Broadview Heights. Will be lead by veterans Allison Vallas, Emily Gouge and Dawnjene DeLong. Hard to believe those three are Seniors already...only 3 SR's this year. Of course we still have Haley Wiemer, who kicks total tail on the mound and at the plate. The best overall player in the MAC, IMO.
Looking forward to another BiG season of Falcon Softball. BG plays DH's at Kent AND Akron this season so that helps me out.
BTW, did the Falcons participate in the Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic at OSU a couple weeks ago? I never saw any results from that. BG was to play Kent, Ohio, Wright St and Ohio St.
GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!
