Blade Article on MAC Media Day...

Very good read.

Funny quote from Cueball up the road in Savage...

To be realistic, the Falcons know they won't be given a free pass from league opponents. This BG team may be untested, but BG as a program has set a very high standard in the MAC.

"There's a lot of pressure on those guys, whether they want to admit it or not," Toledo coach Mark Ehlen said. "There's a lot of pressure to keep that program where it's been."

Pressure? This staff THRIVES on pressure, dude. If anyone is feeling the pressure, I'd think it'd be you...considering the once powerful Rockette program is an also ran these days. FOUR straight seasons finishing below .500. He's talking a BiG game this year. We'll see.

We know this heralded freshman class will have growing pains. Kate alluded to that as well. But man, with Kate and Lindsey, Whitney, Tara, Laura coming back? And hopefully Sarah Clapper has recovered from her injury.

By the end of the season, this team will be in the Elite tier of the MAC again.

Let's tip it off! GO FALCONS!!! FOUR PEAT!!!

Ehlen has developed a HUGE inferiority complex. Every chance he gets he starts flinging some crazy passive-aggressive bull flop down I-75. It's obvious BG is in his head, and judging on our streak vs. UT and some of the huge comeback victories, I'd say we're in his team's head, too.

Absolutely true, J4H. He can't stand the fact that Coach Miller has built "THEE" program in the MAC and throws out jabs at any time.

What are we up to now? BG has won 9 straight over UT? :-D

Ehlen

Ehlen and Miller are very good friends. Don't forget Ehlen also has a BG degree.

That's all fine and dandy. But, at this present time, he coaches the school up north. There's no need to take pot shots like he does...ESPECIALLY since he has a degree from BG.

I was quite surprised to read this quote form Coach Ehlen. As stated, the pressure is NOT on BG. Expectations around the league and in our town is that we will be very young, very competitive and very well coached.

It is quite possible we will be quite good by tournament time. Time will tell.

On the other hand, Coach Ehlen's Rockets have had four very down years. Four. That is a high number. He has stocked the team, primarily, with JC players over the past two years. That is fine.

As long as "team chemistry" is good.

And you win.

The pressure is on UT- not BG.

Obviously, we will have freshmen in certain roles. But players like the rough and tumble Breske (sans brace)and a focused Taylor might just provide some surprises.

Go Falcons!
