OU Tailgating

Post by JohnnySwoop '85 »

I assume the usual location, people, grilling arrangements, team walk...any thing else special going this Saturday?

We'll be in the usual spot.

I haven't given much thought to the food yet...any ideas or requests?

Forget the food - maybe a couple of crates of Stroh's would do.

Heh. Amateur. Freak ALWAYS has room on the Coleman for a few brats. And if he says he doesn't, give him a beer and distract him.

Or you can fire up a boombox with some Tesla on it...place it 10-15 yards away, he'll be drawn to it like a moth to a flame. That should give you amnple time to put some brats on while he's distracted
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

LOL! You guys are a trip. Absolutley there will be room on the Coleman grill. :D

Josh and I will be heading up this week...Jake won't be able to make it due to some behavior issues in school. It is gonna be tough leaving Sat and he won't be with us. Mrs. Freak is gonna sit this one out as well.
We should be at the Doyt by 2-2:30....depends if we can get there earlier to check out some of the RUGBY matches, which start at 1. I'd like to leave by 10:30 to get us into town by 12:45. I still have to pick up Mrs. Freak's pound of coffee downtown. LOL.

I am hoping my parents, Mom and Dad Freak, will make the game since I'll have 2 extra tickets.

I can take those 2 tickets off your hands if you need to. My daughter is probably bringing a friend, and the wife is probably going to come as well.

Alright, I have come to a conclusion as to the food for this Saturday's tailgate.

This is something new that we've never done before, but we're going with Tacos. I'll be making up a large batch of taco meat, refried beans, and I'll have the fixin's as well. Tortillas, cheese, sour cream, salsa, etc, etc.

Honestly, I cannot believe we've never thought of this before, but it should be pretty good.

For this occasion, we'll probably have to forgo the usual beers in favor of margaritas.

Hammb, I had considered a fajitagate before, but never followed trough with it. There is not much better of an outdoor food than tacos, you just don't have to worry about the mess.

Sounds good, I'll bring stuff to contribute to that as well!! We also have a blender (It's ORANGE, of course!), and Margarita mix in the camper already!! :partyman:

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
