Why is everyone so down on GC? He's an EXCELLENT Athletic Director! You wanna meet an ass of an Athletic Director? Head down to New Mexico and have a look at Paul Krebs...total asshat. Are you really trying to blame a guy for trying to get people to fill the Ice Arena, Anderson Arena and the Doyt? Before people decide to throw GC to the "Lobos" (ha, Krebs reference), why don't you take a look at the things he is trying to do for the Athletic Program. Macman, just be glad he didn't disband the sorry ass hockey program! GC is going to do more things for this school then Krebs ever even tried. Long live GC!

First, Greg Christopher is doing an amazing job 90% of the time in my opinion. And thats pretty good. He listens, but makes a decision and stands by it. Good for him for being a strong leader. Second, Paul Krebs did his job just as well 90% of the time so I don't understand your hatred for him. He came into a department that was operating WAY to far in the red and balanced its budget. Not all of his decisions were easy or popular, but they WERE necessary for the department to grow as it needed. Without the decisions Paul made as Athletic Director, Greg Christopher would not be able to have the success he is having now as AD. So what is the deal with hating Paul?

I guess my hatred is mostly from a Media point of view as I was the Sports Director for BG24 last year and did a lot the previous two years as well.

On several occasions I e-mailed or left voice messages for Krebs...none of which were returned. Not even a "No Comment." As for GC, the day he was named Athletic Director I sent him an e-mail explaining who I was and no less than 30 minutes later, I had a response thanking me and "I look forward to working with you and BG24."

Also, when the attendance worries were taking place, GC agreed to meet with us, ON CAMERA to give his opinions about what was taking place. When I tried to interview Krebs about something, again, not even a "Not at this time." GC has made himself more available...Drew, be glad you got a "Thanks for your note" response. With Krebs there would have been nothing in your inbox.

So that is where and why I stand on Krebs and GC. J.D. Campbell also became more approachable when he got a new boss and that made my job that much easier.

I guess we just had different experiences with him. I worked for the BG news and did his first interview for the paper the summer Paul was hired. We also worked together when I was team manger for Women's Gymnastics. My e-mails were always returned, sometimes not right away, but I did get a note that he would get to me. We also argued a bit over some issues. I am sorry you had the bad experience with Paul. He is a Falcon through and through. Unlike others he proudly states he graduated from BGSU. We need a lot more alumni like him who have an outlet to advance the University's name.

Drew, thanks for your note. Regards, Greg Christopher
A bit frustrating.
I see your frustration, but understand that I have responded the same way to eamails. That doesn't mean nothing was done with the email. I would wager that he forwarded the email to the appropriate person/people with a sentence or two regarding how to proceed.

He's the Director. He needs to and will delegate.

Christopher is an amazing AD and that will become more clear in the coming months and years.

Do you all think that AD's from other schools give youy as much acess as GC gives you right now?

Amazing that some of you can be so upset with someone who is trying to help, maybe it would be better to have no AD?

Actually it was Cornell. I don't think Harvard has much of a student section.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, a card will not tell me what chants to do. If you don't like the cards don't take them, or place them in the trash after you get.
Wow, so this thread totally went where I never imagined it would.

I know people don't really pay attention to the card. If they did, they would actually use the chants that are on it. I personally would prefer to see the card disappear. The traditions be passed down the proper way. But, if someone feels it is necessary to produce a card with chants on it, at least make them our chants. I heard a Notre Dame fan comment on how little our fans knew what was going on Tuesday (delayed penalty on ND. I explained to him how inconsistent the ref had been with actually making calls all night and that anybody would be confused). He didn't reference the card at all, but how dumb do we have to be to have a slow clap explained to us?

Oh, and our visitor penalty chant came to us by way of scUM...for those wondering.

I would rather have BGSU traditions in tact and an AD that stands behind them and promotes the rich traditions we have, rather than just cast them off looking to what other schools on top are doing.

You need to speak to some old timers who went to our games at Harvard in the 1984 playoffs as to what type of a student section Harvard has (at least back in the day).

I seem to remember the Michigan fans started a bunch of these chants the year immediately after they played at Harvard in the playoffs.
