Non-game sights that upset me

1. Why visiting the conccession stand on the East side, why was one of the workers clad in Michigan clothing?

2. Why was the OSU game being played in the Sebo Center in plain sight where people could see the big screen?

You know, its a wonder why we have so few in attendance. I know you can't stop paying fans, but when our workers and television screens in plain sight can't even focus on OUR team at the game its pathetic. It's just the little things that upset me.

1. Back when Dining Services did concessions, workers would be kicked out of their stands if they were wearing any other school gear than BG. No idea what V/Gladieux's stance on it is.

2. What TV are you talking about? Considering our game started at 6 and the OSU game started at 8 someone would have to go turn the TV to the OSU game. If you're talking about the TV that was one the top floor, there was football on all-day on that TV.

There was one stand on the East side where there were 4 people working. 1 had a Michigan sweatshirt, 1 an OSU sweatshirt, 1 talking on his bluetooth, the 4th was uninterested in working. My dad and I stood there for a minute before we get up fed up and left. The west side has always been pretty good but man the east side needs work.

I was wholly dissatisfied with my visit to the concession stand as well. I had to wait far too long, then the guy (armed with both a price list and a calculator) took about 5 minutes to figure my total, then asked me if it was correct, as if he didn't have a calculator right in front of him.

The worst part? My total was $10 for a brat, a pretzel and a powerade.

I noticed the concessions apparel at the hockey game the other night. They're allowed to wear just whatever they want in there. I can guarantee we can't get out of the arrangement with Gladieux by the end of the season or even before the year is over. But I sure as hell hope they aren't back next year.

I for one did not have any qualms with our old concessions. A former girlfriend, and two great friends of mine were concessions managers. Luckily for them they graduated before their jobs were eliminated. Outsourcing is Bullsh!t.

On page 56 of the game program (BG coaches history), why is the name "Walter Jean" under the picture of the man after whom our stadium is named? Really minor detail, but I can't believe no one caught that in the editing process.

As far as the concessions, I can't comment. However, I saw alot more OSU and other colleges gear yesterday than I have seen at the Doyt in several years.

I typically don't care about the concessions one iota, as I rarely ever partake in them. I know in year's past the stands were not run by professionals and the lines were painstakingly slow, and the selection was next to nil. It does appear as though the new company has brought some new selections in (along with much higher prices). However, the lines still move slow as molasses. What's worse they ran out of hot chocolate last night. How does that happen? Waited in line about 15 minutes only to get to the front and have them tell me they were out...I left along with like the next 3 people in line who were all waiting for the same thing...no wonder I don't partake in the concessions too often.

Don't feel bad Hammb. I was the second person in line at half and they were OUT of hot chocolate. Must have made at least one Mr Coffee for the crowd. I wonder what would have happened with a crowd of 20,000?

To make matters worse I get to my seat and the little girl in front of me (probably about 10) had a hot chocolate. She hears me complaining and turns around and says, "They're out of hot chocolate?" So I say, "Yeah, so you better enjoy that one."

Then she turns around about 10 minutes later and says, "If it helps, it's not that good."

GRRR...little brat.

On the thought of slow service, the girl that was wearing the Michigan clothing at the stand I was at stood in back of the stand eating a hot dog while the line was twenty deep AT HALFTIME.

The University touted the new and improved concession service with hawkers in the stands. I have seen neither.

It's kinda nice that people walk the stands selling items, but I think the guy selling hot chocolate was wearing a button that read $2, but at the stands it was $1.50. Even at Comerica Park, things cost the same in the stands as they do at the concessions.

I went down at the end of the 1st quarter to get 3 hot chocolates, and when I asked if they had anything to carry it in, they told me I had to buy a food item before they would give me a carrying tray. I said, you've got to be kidding me, and then one of the manager guys or whatever said, "Go ahead and give him one." I'm already giving up my life savings for 3 hot chocolates, and I'm definitely going to be eating before I get to the stadium from now on. They need to bring in somebody more sensible when it comes to cost and attire.

there is likely something in that contract related to apropreate atire...and my guess is, that if you bring it up....they will respond...even our stupid AD is not so dumb as let this go on.

Seriously, MACMAN, I try to let most of your rambling slide, but lay off the AD. The guy is doing a hell of a job and looks only to get better as time goes on. Hell, he's raising a ton of money for athletics - hockey included - so let it go for the love of god.

If you'd come out to our tailgates I can assure you that you'd be too full to even think about buying food from the concessions.

Taco's, Beans, Nachos, Brats, Hot dogs, Hamburgers, Chicken Wings, cookies, etc, etc.

We don't go hungry
