This is a good opportunity for Big Siggy. He really wasn't getting much PT down in Providence.

I'm guessing it's probably a matter of options, or more likely, the "two-way contract". If the other goalie in Providence has a two-way deal, he'll make considerably more for being on the Bruins roster. No sense paying him that much more if he's just going to keep the bench warm for Fernandez' return. If Fernandez is out longer, I wouldn't be surprised to see the starter at Providence called up for extended duty. (Which might not be bad for Jordan to get more starting time in Providence.)Tricky_Falcon wrote:I see he played one game in Providence. If he saw so little action in the minors how can he get called up to the NHL? Wouldn't you think the guy that gets the most playing time in the minors would have the best shot at moving up?
Of course, I really hope I'm way off base and he gets a chance to add to his 43 seconds of NHL experience.

According to the Bruins board, it was done for cap reasons.

Awesome news!! GOOD LUCK JORDAN!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

There's a story about him on NHL.com... though it looks like the usual "Hey look, he has MS!" story from two years ago with the call-up information tacked on.
That and he played at some school called "Bowling State".

I saw that! I should have gone to that school, it sounds like so much more fun than BGSU. I mean, I had to go to classes (occasionally) and take exams and stuff... I don't recall a whole lot of bowling.TG1996 wrote:There's a story about him on NHL.com... though it looks like the usual "Hey look, he has MS!" story from two years ago with the call-up information tacked on.

I also liked the typo toward the end of the story: "The two bothers played for Providence..." If they're so annoying, Providence can ship them to Cleveland or Grand Rapids.

Yes, Tuuka Rask is the future of the Bruins. He is amazing now. I will continue to cringe at every save he makes in his career knowing that My Leafs trading his for ANDREW RED LIGHT RAYCROFT!!!!
Dave Ellett is a hero. A Bowling Green Falcon and a Former Jet and Maple Leaf. What more can a Winnipegger ask for.
