A truly great story within Falcon Football...Blade...
Matt Emans, local BG product gets a great write up...

Seems a few of our young men have had some trying times in their lives. Whatever you think of Coach B, I love when he rewards hard work and loyalty and Matt has earned that schollie.
Way to be a team player, Matt. Would love for him to get some passes thrown his way before the season is over.
BTW, Matt grew up a Falcon fan...this ROCKS!
Matt briefly considered a military career but instead chose to pursue a college degree and a spot on the Falcon football team. Brad had always hoped for at least one of his sons to play a college sport, and Matt, a 2003 BGHS graduate, was the most-accomplished athlete of the three. But Matt didn't give much consideration to playing for BGSU even though he spent his youth cheering for the Falcons.
"Growing up as a kid here, I didn't even dream of playing a college sport," Matt said. "I thought it was above me. As I grew older I realized that it was a goal that I could reach and I just feel privileged to be part of a team I looked up to growing up."

Great story Freak. Thank for sharing. The kid obviously bleeds Falco orange and brown.
I know there are snide comments people are itching to spew forth. Swallow 'em. That's not what this thread is about.1987Alum wrote:I've always said that he's the type of man I'd want my kid to play for.

Thanks in advance.
That story gave a very accurate picture of the family. I have known Brad and the boys, as well as their mother, and all are hard working, great people that would do anything to help out a worthwhile cause. Michelle's death was a big loss to all of us that knew her and especially our youth baseball program, where she put in an unbelievable amount of time.
Great job Matt!!!!
Great job Matt!!!!

I agree with you 87. In this aspect GB is a frickin awesome coach and this shows that he loves what he is doing. It also shows that he "gets" what its all about, no matter who pressures him into changing his values. He deserves an applaud for that, unfortunately I don't think many casual fans truly understand this aspect of coaching and its importance.
4th & 13 on PU 32yd line.. 56,000 fans up on their feet screaming, i held my breath the entire play trying to make as little noise as possible.. wouldnt u know Sharon would make the biggest touchdown catch in the history of BG Football, FALCON UP!

Here here...I kept waiting for Emans to get a ball or two thrown to him...hopefully soon.NY-BG-FAN wrote:Watching the game I saw that #81 was out there at reciever once we got a big lead but we couldn't get him the ball. Hopefully we can get him a couple grabs before his career ends.
