WMU-CMU game 11/6/07
Anyone care who wins this one? I'm watching it here, and it's currently 7-3 Western just after the half. Just wondering if there are any thoughts on this one. Central will clinch the west if they win tonight.

...did I just hear the announcers call this "THE rivalry game in the MAC?"

"THE" rivalry in this conference (at least in football) is always played as the last game of the year. The MAC consciously made that decision with ESPN.
Just an example of coaches talking themselves up when meeting with commentators.

I doubt it was this year. It's freezing cold and there's been some snow as well up in Kalamazoo. Plus its Tuesday night. I bet those two factors had a big negative effect on attendance tonight. We'll see though.kdog27 wrote:This usually is a pretty big game. The ending of this game is NUTS. LeFevour tried to QB sneak and he appeared to get the TD on first and goal from the 1, but the play was ruled not a TD and confirmed on the replay. Now he sneaked again, and got in for the TD. Now they are reviewing this play because WMU says they stopped his forward progress.
They just called it a TD. 34-31 CMU with :14 left. What a crazy game.

WMU nearly had a Trinity College lateral play at the end, they got it to the CMU 30 but lost the ball out of bounds to end the game. What an ending. And yeah, it was controversial because of the QB sneaks being reviewed, but IMO justice was served because LeFevour was in on the first sneak that was called down inside the 1.
THAT'S what MAC football should be folks.

Kaleena, I do agree that CMU's fans are idiots. I remember one of them looking at my BGSU hoodie and proclaiming us as "big gay sex university" on the field after the game. But honestly, from what I've heard through the grapevine, WMU's fans aren't exactly saints by comparison. I haven't experienced them firsthand since we haven't played at WMU in the three years I've been here, maybe next year...Kaleena08 wrote:I wish Western would have won. I simply dislike Central due to the idiots who attend school there and how they act at their football games (more specifically when we went there last year).
