So you gossip something you heard from your students onto a web forum? No offense, but that's pretty messed up.

+1, besides the fact that we all know High School kids are always the best source of info.

Chris told me however that he should be ready this week hopefully he will. That nine points and six boards he got last year could make a difference.
Not a shot a Erik, but I would hope Knight and Nate get most of the time at the 3 & 4 anyway. I understand that it was only one exhibition game, but it looks like Knight and Nate could be our scoring punch. Don't we have to try to get these two on the floor at the same time.

This was in The Blade today:

Orr has refused to discuss details about Erik Marschall's injury, but the Falcons will likely be without Marschall (9.1 points per game in 2006) this weekend and perhaps much longer.

Does anyone have any idea what EXACTLY is going on with Marschall??? We certainly need him this year but it's really becoming a mystery as to what is going on with him and the secret his status.

I would imagine that he has an injury. It sounds like an injury he wants to be kept private. I'll simple believe the coach that Marschall is injured, wish him well and speedy recovery and let it be.

In my opinion, if neither the coach nor Marschall have announced what the injury is, then they want to keep it private. To that end, I don't think people should be coming out an saying "I heard it was this..." or "Someone said he broke such and such"

WILD SPECULATION: I suspect that if his continued recovery doesn't go well, maybe he'll get a medical redshirt? That might explain the secrecy.

If not, then why the secrecy about the injury? The mind wanders... ;)

Correctamundo. He'll be back when he's back. Until then, fans need to support him and not turn A-Z-Z into the National Enquirer.

I too am of the opinion that Miller, as much as I dislike midget 3's and Knight should get the bulk of the minutes at 3 and 4. That way, Marschall can be effective in what he does well and that's provide scoring off the bench. I have yet to find a player that has been on our schedule for the past 2 years that he's done even a mediocre job defending.

However, he could provide leadership and scoring from the bench and give the team a nice lift when he comes back from whatever his situation is.

Losing Marschall for an extended period would hurt, but seeing Knight, I think he is slated for the bulk of the minutes at that slot anyways. Marschall is a tremendous post scorer though...he's got a wide array of post moves and a good mid-range jumper as well. Not sure he'd be a starter on this team, but his points would be a big asset off the bench.

Let's hope he's alright and able to come back by the time MAC season rolls around.
