This Is Exactly Why Computers Will Never Take Over The World
Just Look Where Each CPU Has BG Ranked...If They Are Going To Penalize You For Your Schedule, Shouldn't They At Least Let Victory Margin Play A Role? I Know This Has Been Said A Billion Times, But If They Are Not Going To Have A Play-Off, They Need A Better System.
P.S. Im Not Saying BG is a top 6 team, but to have New Hampshire ranked above us is an insult no matter where it comes from.

I freely admit I don't know understand how exactly the BCS computers work or to know much more about the bowl situation this year, but where exactly is Delaware rank??AJatBG wrote:P.S. Im Not Saying BG is a top 6 team, but to have delaware ranked above us is an insult no matter where it comes from.

I have been really suprised by the computers this year. Last year we were in the top five for most of the year with several of the computers. While I do realize this was dreaming, why are we so much lower this year in the computers? I know we had the win over Purdue, but I dunno...this team is at least as good if not better than last year.

THE BCS IS A JOKE AND WE ALL KNOW IT.. LETS GO TO A PLAYOFF SYSTEM.
IT WOULD MAKE JUST AS MUCH MONEY AS BOWL GAMES AND WOULD GIVE TEAMS A LEGITIMATE CLAIM TO A NAIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.
IT'S EASILY ACCOMPLISHED..
1. Use BCS standings or one of the polls to determine the top 8 teams in the nation. (obviously this already leaves room for disagreement, but bear with me).
2. Take the top 8 teams and put them in a playoff.. each major bowl game would still be played.. just used as a playoff site instead. (The other bowl games can still be played - just not part of the playoff bracket. Outback bowl fans can breathe a sigh of relief
3. last two teams play in national championship game.. rotated each year among the major bowls that are already part of the BCS - that would solve the problem of money-making

Again, with one more round, conferences could be awarded automatic bids.windycityfalcon wrote:2. That's attractive (if we must have a playoff. I'm not sold on it).
Remember: As awesome as Miami was last year and as talented Marshall was in '99, neither finished the season higher than tenth in the major polls.
