When's the last time this happened?

Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.

I love seeing Miami lose. Friggin thugs. Nobody cares about them down here. They have to play a top 5 team to get a good crowd. I still haven't met a true fan of them.

Notre Dame, 1-9. Enough said.

The last time OSU and Michigan lost going into the big game was 1957 I believe.

The B11 is just plain bad this year. Not quite as bad as Notre Dame, but still. :)

I dont think they are as bad as people think.. There aren't any great teams this year. There are a bunch of good teams but no one is great. Big ten actually has 9 or 10 bowl eligible teams this year. I think actually Minnesota is the only one not bowl eligible.

the Big ten struggled early, obviously but I think it became a pretty decent conference. We will have to let the bowl games speak for us now to prove it but I think some will be suprised.

Remember, this whole love fest everyone has with the SEC, the Big ten owned em last year in bowl games 2 wins 1 loss. People only want to remember the 1 win the SEC had, but the Big ten won the B10 SEC challenge. So much for that SEC speed.

The Big ten has rebounded, bowl games will show it. Bring on bowl season!

I base the strength of the B11 mainly on one thing. Michigan is a very mediocre football team. They are poorly coached, and they've been hit very hard by injuries. They also absolutely ripped through the conference schedule until Saturday. When a team like Michigan is the second best team in your conference, well, you don't have a very good conference.

I disagree about UM. They were mediocre but they had become a good team.

I dont base anything off the way they played last week...It was a meaningless game for them.. would they have liked to have won the game? of course, but, they didnt need too.

they ripped through the conference because they ARE the second best team. Hell, they havent played OSU yet, they may be the best team(hope not). They got it together after the debacle that was the first two games of the season. They fought through injuries and poor coaching and won their games.

but, like I said..we will see what happens in bowl games to measure the Big Ten against other conferences.

They ripped through the conference because it is weak. Look what Michigan did out of conference. They lose to Ap St, they get murdered by Oregon, they stop the bleeding by pounding Notre Dame, and they struggle against EMU. Getting to the Big Ten portion of the schedule is what made them look good again.

I don't think they are a top 25 team. They didn't beat anyone. They played one outstanding team and got beat down.

Big Ten was still 2-1 against the godly, amazing and unstoppable SEC  last year in bowl games ( didnt a Big Ten team beat Arkansas who played in the SEC championship game? holy crap! :o ). I am willing to bet that Oregon will demolish LSU as well. I am talking 17 + points. Then, maybe this love affair will stop. It is all BS.

I agree with you about the SEC, they get way too much credit. For me LSU hasn't done anything to warrant that number 1 ranking. They have been limping through way too many games, but then again I thought the same thing about Florida last year. With the way things have gone this season who knows which conference is the best.

Easily the Pac 10 is the best conference this year. Although USC is not good they could probably beat Tennessee who may be playing in the SEC championship game.

That is sad.
