Chris Bullock

Post by Rollo83 »

What the hell happened to this guy in 2007? Brandon has screwed this guy big time in my eyes. He has shown some flashs this year that he should still be the featured back in this offense. Carried the offense as a freshman and then disappears this year.

I know Brandon wants a pass catching threat out of the backfield in the spread. I know Chris put the ball on the ground a couple of times earlier this year. But, damn the kid is probably the hardest runner we have between the tackles. He breaks tackles. He cuts back and finds holes.

How do you think the kid feels about his sophmore year at BG? AP 3rd team all-freshman and can't get on the field this year. Hard to figure out.

Again, can't argue with contributions by Ransom, Geter and Macon, but you have to find a place for this guy. Especially with all the injurries this year at RB.

I dunno if it's discipline problems or what not, but the decline in his playing time this year has been sad to me. He was my favorite player last year, and this year it's tough seeing him only getting 5-6 touches a game. Obviously AT and Geter have been exceptionally good out of the backfield, but I believe Chris still has a spot on this offense.

From what I've heard, he has had problems practicing "hard" and fumbles in practice. Now, I don't know how reliable the source is but it sure would be nice to see him get the ball more. He rocked in the 2nd half at EMU.

Earlier on this year, he was having trouble handing onto the ball and was putting it on the ground which is my understanding as to why he wasn't getting as many carries in recent weeks. I remember him coughing it up at Miami and don’t remember him playing much after that until the Akron game. I also can't get rid of the image of him fumbling into the endzone going in for a TD at Temple last year that resulted in a touchback. But that was then and right now, he looks to be running with a purpose, holding onto the football, and he seems to be hitting the holes quicker right now too. I'm just glad to see him come in and help when called upon. Keep it up Chris.

I too like Bullock but did anyone else notice that at times he really has trouble keeping his feet under him when he runs. At least twice during the EMU game he feel down without being touched (one was at the end of a decent run too)...I think Chris can be good but he needs to get that confidence level up and run that he did last year!

All I can say is that given his success last year, and our injuries this year, there must have been a pretty decent reason.

Putting him in against EMU was smart. Fresh legs, plus it coincided with an adjustment we made in the the offense.
